After hearing my story, Mom and Dad felt sorry for me.

The next day, I received many phone calls from an unknown number.
Before I went to bed, I always had a habit of putting my phone on airplane mode. As soon as I turned it off, the notifications on my phone poured in at once. I noticed I had more than 99 missed calls.
Within the next second, my phone rang. I tentatively chose to answer the call. After all, this stranger seemed determined to contact me.
“Hello?” I answered the call.
Very quickly, Vernon’s familiar voice sounded through the phone. “Avril, how long will you keep this up? Did you move out of our apartment? Where are you living now?
“Peggy has decided that she won’t hold the theft against you. So, I won’t ask you to apologize to her anymore. As long as you come back to work, I’ll promote you to become my assistant!”
I snorted and said, “You must’ve received my message last night, right? If my text got lost in the sea of well wishes, I don’t mind repeating it again.”
Over the phone, I heard Vernon suddenly inhale sharply, and I continued, “We’re over. What do you think? Did I make things clear enough for you today? You understand what I’m saying, right?”
Without waiting for Vernon’s response, I ended the call right away, I also blocked this unfamiliar number.
A good day started in the morning, and Vernon had ruined my good mood by calling me so early in the day. I was definitely annoyed.
