Chapter 25

We arrived at a restaurant, a fancy and elegant restaurant that reeked of wealth.
“You know, I would’ve been fine with McDonald’s or something muttered, staring at the beautiful place while Leonardo reversed into parking.
“McDonald’s? With the way you’re dressed? Now even I know you don’t mean that.” He laughed and I couldn’t help but laugh too, staring at him. This might just be the first time I’ve seen him laugh and I wanted that memory engraved in my mind.
After parking, he quickly reached over, grabbing a gun from the tiny compartment. I frowned. “Is that necessary? We’re just going to cat. What if someone sees that on you?”
“And then what? What could they possibly do? You know I gotta keep this on me, anymore.”
“I get it,” I replied, curtly, turning away from him.
“It’s going to be fine.” He said softly, taking my hand to kiss me on my knuckles. I hate to admit it but that gesture alone made me feel fucking good.
. He reached over, unbuckled my seatbelt, and opened the car door so I could step out. The air was cold, instantly cooling
down my hot skin and I reveled in it.
We walked to the main entrance and upon arrival, a man dressed in a three–piece suit greeted us and Leonardo even had a little chat with him.
He must be a regular here. My heart tugged in jealousy at the other girls he must’ve brought with him here.
But I quickly dismissed the thought because I fully intended to enjoy my night here. Inside, the restaurant was one of the most beautiful restaurants I had ever seen in my life. The soft glow of pendant lights that hung from the ceiling cast a soft and golden hue all over the interior.
The soft murmur of conversations from the few diners was nearly drowned out by the gentle music playing in the background. I noticed there were only a handful of people dining, so privacy wouldn’t be an issue.
Leonardo acted all gentlemanly by pulling my chair out for me and I gave him a grateful smile, wiping my palms on the hem of my dress.
“This place is….” I looked around, amazed at how homey and comfortable it felt, despite how absolutely expensive it looked. “Very nice.”
“Thank you.” He sat opposite me, unbuttoning his suit jacket with just a flick of his finger.
“Wait…you own this,” I said, gesturing with my hands.
“Yes.” He replied that it wasn’t such a big deal.
What?!
Exactly how rich is this guy?
That’s amazing!”

Chapter 25
“Mr De Luca. It’s so lovely to see you again.” A pretty blond waitress popped out of nowhere. She placed two menus on the table and brought out her pen and notepad from her apron.
She introduced herself as Sam and started spewing the restaurant’s specials.
The meals were authentic Italian foods and I ended up deciding on the chicken fettuccine alfredo.
“Good choice, miss Guzman.” She grinned and I was stunned because I didn’t remember introducing myself. Before I could question it, she was asking what I would like to drink.
I was about to say fruit juice when I realized that I didn’t have to settle for that anymore. I was no longer pregnant.
A wave of sadness washed over me and I looked up at Leonardo to find him leaning back in his chair, watching me.
“Whatever you want, we will have it available for you,” Sam said.
“Oh–well then, I’ll have the vodka redbull. Thank you.” I said, handing her back the menu.
Leonardo ended up ordering a wine that I couldn’t quite pronounce and with that fake customer service smile I had grown to be so able to identify, she wrote our orders down before rushing away.
“She knew my name.” I eyed him, but his expression didn’t change.
“Everyone here knows your name.” He said and it didn’t seem like a big deal to him. “Why?”
“Because you’re my date.” He leaned forward, resting his forearms on the table.
Date.
I’ve been on several dates with the no–good son of a bitch, Enzo but why do I suddenly feel this flutter in my stomach at the word? It’s the first time I’ve experienced it.
“Why did you-”
“Here are your drinks!” My thigh was harshly and painfully bumped underneath the table so hard that the cutlery clinked loudly.
I swear, Sam is going to give me a heart attack!
I couldn’t control the clenching of my jaw as she placed the drinks in front of us.
“And here’s your food! If you need anything else, please don’t hesitate to let me know.” She chirped and I gave her a thankful smile. I could tell that she was nervous and trying her best to mask it.
I took a sip of my drink and my eyes closed in genuine satisfaction. It was good, really good. The ratio was done to perfection.
The food laid out in front of us smelled heavenly and my mouth watered immediately. I had never been so excited to eat.
Leonardo waited until I had my first bite in before picking up his fork.
I’m not sure why he did that but the moment I tasted the pasta, I forgot to ask. His grin was wide and it spread even further when my expression turned into one of shock. I had to wave my hand at him to remind him to eat.
“Is it…..good?” He asked, taking his fork to twirl his pasta around “Yes.” I answered, “Very delicious.”

We ate, and talked, and by the time we were done with our food ordered dessert. That night, I saw a whole different side to Leonardo De Luca. He was the perfect gentleman, a far cry from the killer who once pointed a gun at me.
He complimented me, held my hand and none of it felt forced. He gave me kisses on my knuckles. It was…perfect.
I was a little sad when the night ended and we were stepping out of the restaurant. He casually slumped his arm over my shoulder as we walked to his car.
I enjoyed my night with him and I was glad I took him up on his offer for dinner instead of going over to Isabella’s.
As we both stepped into the car to head back to the house, I felt the sinking feeling that I might just have developed feelings for Leonardo De Luca.
