I watched Russo grabs his jacket from the coat hanger and slide his arms in it, waving at me before leaving. I chuckled and glanced at my laptop screen trying to force myself to study
I sucked in a deep breath after about twenty minutes. I ran my hands over my face and groaned, a headache setting between my brows. I turned to look for Guila but she was nowhere to be seen. I glanced at my coffee cup to find it empty. That’s probably why I have a headache. Im so damn dehydrated.
I stood up from the counter, got a cup of water from the sink, and downed it in one go.
My phone vibrates on the counter and I turn to see a notification from the security app. I instantly frowned as I brought the phone to my hands. Someone is at the door and Inish to look through the cameras,
I saw a man standing at the gate looking confused and slightly angry, muttering. My fingers pressed the sound button and his voice burst from the receiver.
He has a familiar build as that of Leonardo and my heartbeat soared.
Is this who I think it is? Please God, no.
“What’s going on?” He shouts, “Why doesn’t my key work? Did you change your locks? Leo! Russo!”
What do I do? What do I do?!
“Shit.” I curse to myself. “Oh shit”
The figure steps back and glances at the camera.
you you know.”
“Now, whatever plaything that Leonardo’s got in there, I can hear you, you
My eyes sprung wide.
Fuck!
He could hear me. I quickly turned off the mic from my phone and rushed to text Russo,
There’s a figure at the door and if my instincts are right, I believe it’s Matteo! I don’t know what to do and he’s wondering why he can’t get in the house.
What do I do!
I quickly swiped back to the security app and the voice echoed into the room. It fills me with nostalgia because he sounded
so much like Leonardo.
“Hey girl. I just need to grab something. Can you tell Leonardo to let me in? Or you could just come to the door and let me in yourself. Don’t worry, I don’t bite. Well, except you want me to.” He said, chuckling
My stomach twists in knots. I shouldn’t make him suspicious. I shouldn’t make him think that they were onto him or that anything was wrong.
Leonardo and Russo both have the security app also and they will see him at the door and I’m sure they’ll come straight over. Even if Russo hasn’t responded to my texts, he might be or his way to the house.
Leonardo claimed he had people trailing Matteo so how come he hasn’t been alerted that his brother is in his house!

I close my eyes for a second.
What if it wasn’t even him but was this other Trey guy?

1 can just invite him in and let him quickly grab whatever it is he wants to grab, then tell him to go because I was busy studying. The longer I leave him standing out there, the more hed get suspicious and I know Leonardo wouldn’t want that.
On the other hand, I was so curious to meet someone who grew up with Leonardo and to correct his stupid notion that I was anyone’s plaything and even though curiosity was what got me into this huge giant mess I’m in, I buzzed him in.
“It’s open.” I call out as I take it off mute and allow t
w the gates to open.
I push down the curve of my sweatshirt and leggings. Not that I had anything to fix but I suddenly became nervous. Russo still hasn’t messaged me back but maybe this is fine. I’m sure he be in and then out.

The front door turns and I pretend to glance up from my laptops the man steps inside.
It took everything within me not to gasp at the striking resemblance. It was almost like they were twins.
Or were they?
Leonardo hardly talks about family and even when he does, it’s in bits and pieces
His tousled blond hair lay over a face as strikingly handsome as is brother. Unlike his brother’s signature dress style which consists of tailored suits, he was dressed casually in a pair of jeans and t–shirt
“Hey.” He called out, immediately he got in
“Who are you? And what happened with the security system? Where’s Lea?” He asked, looking around.

Too many questions, dude!
“And you must be Matteo,” I replied. “I’m Russo’s sister, Alessia
A look of maybe recognition flashed through his features. “The Alessia?” I raised an eyebrow in question. “What are you talking about?”
never mind. Apologies for calling you his plaything.”
He might bear a striking resemblance to his brother but his mischievous smile right now is making my skin crawl.
“And as for the security system, Leonardo changed it over a month ago.
His eyes widened as he began walking up to me slowly. “A month Well, It’s been a long while since I’ve been here. Guess I’ve been busy.”
I nod my head, acting as normal as I can with a guy whose name ‘ve heard so much in the past few weeks that he doesn’t seem like a stranger but that’s what he is.
“We’ve all been busy.” I say.
His eyes glanced toward my laptop on the counter and the notepad I had beside it. “You working or studying?” He asked.
“I’m studying, that’s why it took me a while to get the door.” I lie but finished it off with a convincing huff.
He nodded, waving it off
“So where are they? Russo and Leonardo?

“Out,” I replied curtly. “What did you need to grab
Matteo’s eyes sparkle in a way that isn’t comforting. “Oh, just something from my brother’s office.”

“Oh, his office is locked” I blurted out suddenly, I had no idea it was locked or not but I don’t want him waltzing in there. when I don’t know what he wants to grab. It’s not like he’s a business associate or anything. Hell! He should be in Italy according to Leonardo.
His brows crease. “Really? That’s strange. He didn’t do that when lived here.”
Something in my jaw ticks but I shrug. “Well, I wanted to go in the other day and it was locked.” The lies keep falling from my lips before I can stop them.
Manteo studies me for a moment least I get to talk to a beautiful lady.”
Shit! No!
You were supposed to be leaving
