Chapter 4
Elara pov
Three days have passed since Sophia found out that I’m pregnant. I had begged her not to say anything, told her about my plans to leave the pack, and that Liora should never find out. I even gave her some of the money I had saved to help cover things while I disappeared. But I still can’t shake off the feeling that something is about to go wrong, very wrong.
“Elara” the voice brings me out of my thoughts, I look up from what I am doing to see Sohpia stride into the kitchen with an air of confidence. “The Luna wants to see you“.
My heart drops and I put down the plate. Did Liora know? Sophia had told her about it? These questions flood my mind and I can see the satisfied smirk Sophia has.
“Bring Luna her breakfast since you are going there” she commands and leaves before I can ask anything. I sigh and take the tray to the room, knocking on the door. I wait a few seconds, my heart pounding against my chest.
“Come in” The soft voice calls from the other side of the door. I hesitate for a moment, my hand frozen on the handle before I open the door. Liora is on the bed barely covered up, I can see the love marks on her flawless body- one particular mark stands out though, the mark Lucian had given her on the neck when he marked her as his mate and Luna. The tray in my hand tremble slightly but I hold it in and put the food on the bed.
Lucian eyes are me as I do so, watching my every move as he studies me. After a while he stands up from the bed and walks to the bathroom ignoring my existence.
“Thank you for the breakfast sister” Liora says with her sickening sweet voice but I know the malice behind that voice. “I called you to ask how you are doing. I know it is hard but thank you for taking care of me, I really appreciate it.”
I raise my eyebrow and move uncomfortably. What is she playing at again? I ask myself and look at my feet. I am nervous but a bit relieved that Liora does not seem to know the truth.
After serving Liora her food, I leave to my room wanting to rest since I haven’t been able to.
An hour later, I wake up to loud banging on the door. I quickly run to open the door expecting to see Sophia yell at me for waking up late.
It is Sophia but in front of her, are guards. I look in confusion and I am about to ask what is going on but Sophia’s words make me stop.
“She is the one who poisoned the Luna” My eyes go wide at the shocking news and accusation. Liora has been poisoned? And they think I poisoned her?
“I didn’t poison anyone, I didn’t poison anyone!” I yell but I am dragged out of my room. I feel everyone’s eyes on me as I try to resist the guards but they are strong, their grips unyielding and ruthless.
“She poisoned her sister” I hear the whispers of the maids.
“The Luna was nice enough to let her stay in the pack house and she really wanted to kill her, what a witch” Another commented.
The guards push me through the crowd and before I know it, I am thrown harshly on the floor. I protectively wrap my hands around my stomach as I fall, bracing myself for the impact.
I hiss in pain and struggle to get up but a pair of shoes comes into my vision and I look up to see Lucain staring down at me.
“L–Lucian” I cry while holding onto his leg, desperately pleading to be believed. “I don’t know anything about this, I didn’t poison Liora, I-” I do not get to finish my next words as Lucian kicks his leg from my hands before pulling me up to my feet.
I meet his eyes and freeze in fear, his eyes are red from anger. I have never seen him this angry before, the man before me definitely wants to kill
- me.
“I didn’t do it, Lucian please-” the rest of my words get stuck in my throat as my head snaps to the side. There is the sound of gasps around me as I touch my face in shock, I turn to meet his eyes but all I can see is pure look of hate.
“How dare you deny this” Lucian yells, roughly gripping my hand to pull me towards him. I flinch and try to free myself but I can’t fight against his overpowering strength.
“Who was the one who brought Liora her food this morning?‘ he ask no one in particular, not needing an answer since he saw me deliver the food himself.
“It was Elara, Alpha” Sophia steps out, her voice is so loud that it seems to make my head spin as I try to make sense of everything happening all at once. “I wanted to give the Luna her breakfast this morning but she said she would do it”

Chapter 4
“You are lying, you asked me to bring Liora her food!” I yell, my eyes widening as I try to explain. What is going on? Why- why is she lying?
“I’m not lying, Alpha. Everyone in the kitchen can bear witness to this” She turns around to the kitchen staff and they nod in agreement. I feel my heart drop as I watch as everyone lies. They were all there when Sophia gave me the tray this morning so
why are they all lying- unless. Realization dawns on me and I gasp. This is a setup.
“Lucian, they are lying. Liora planned all of this because…” Everything happens so fast that I am unable to see it coming. My body is dangling in the air and my legs are shaking as my fingers claw at his hand, trying to pry away the grip that is slowly draining the life from my body.
“L–Lucian” I manage to whisper his name as I feel my eyes closing. For a moment, I watch his eyes flash from green to black. His hand on my neck loosens but before I can catch my breath, I am thrown roughly against the wall with a loud thud.
I do not scream, I only let out a gasp as I hit the wall. Pain shoots through me and everything starts spinning. I cough out blood, struggling to breathe but that isn’t what makes my heart drop.
“No, no, no” I whisper, tears streaming down my cheeks as I desperately plead to the Moon goddess. My hands tremble, pulling up my dress to see blood trailing down my leg.
“My baby!” My scream pierces through the crowd. “Save my baby, please!” I cry as I touch the blood trying to stop it from flowing out but I know it is too late. I know, I know but I can’t accept it.
“What did you just say?” Lucian is in front of me now. He is kneeling, looking at me in shock. “You are pregnant?“.
I stare into his eyes, he looks shocked, sad and guilty but all I can feel is
anger.
“You! You did this. You killed my baby!” I hold his shirt as I yell as the darkness starts to overcome me. “What- what did I ever do to you, I loved you, Lucian but you took everything away from me, everything!” My words start to falter. “I hate you so much, I hate you….” I watch his horrified expression as I slowly succumb to the darkness, falling into his arms.
