Chapter 50
Lucian isn’ı joking. The man is dead serious
Topen my mouth. Па words come out. Goddess, you have no idea how badly I want to shove this man away and call him crazy. But I know one wrong move could put William in danger, so I bite my bottom lip, holding back the words that want to escape before shooting Lucian a harsh glare Instead.
“What do you say. Elara? The choice is yours,” he speaks again, his voice smooth, and I can feel my skin burn from the mere touch of his hands.
“Fine. But five minutes, and then I’m leaving.” I reply with a sigh, trying to push myself off him. When he doesn’t budge, I roll my eyes i frustration.
“I said I’ll give you five minutes. Please, let me go
Lucian’s smirk widens, a dangerous gleam in his eyes. “Ah, of course. My apologies. I was too mesmerized by your beauty. I didn’t hear you.”
My mouth falls open in shock at his blatant flirtation, What the hell! How did Lucian change so much? The Lucian I knew would never say those kinds of words to me, not even to Liora. But now, he speaks without a care in the world.
“Are you really Lucian? You’re not possessed, are you?” I ask, raising an eyebrow. The question seems to catch him off guard. He blinks at me in surprise, as though I’ve uncovered some dark secret of his.
In the blink of an eye, his expression shifts, and the amusement in his face fades into something more intense. His eyes darken, and he pulls me even closer, his presence suddenly commanding, the playful air vanishing entirely.
“What do you mean by possessed? Do you know something” Lucian demands, his voice sharp with an edge I can’t quite place. “Elara, I asked question. Do you know something?”
“W–what?” I blink in surprise, my breath hitching as his grip tightens around my waist, to the point where it starts to hurt.
“Let her go right now! I have already contacted Alpha Damien and he is on his way this instant so let the madam go!” William yells, but Lucian ignores and brushes him off, his focus solely on me.

“You know something, don’t you?” Lucian hisses through clenched treth, his eyes glowing a dangerous shade of red, freezing me in place. “You are the one… the one who-” His voice falters, and he groans, shaking his head as if the words are causing him physical pain.
What is going on? Is he sick?
My heart drops as I watch him suffer. I shouldn’t care, I shouldn’t feel anything for the man who betrayed me, the one who killed my unborn child. And yet…
“Lucian, what’s wrong? Are you okay?” I ask, my voice barely above a whisper, despite myself.
“I–I’m fine,” he starts to say, but pauses, his body jerking violently. He staggers and slumps against me to steady himself. My hands instinctively wrap around his waist to catch his fall, and almost instantly, his familiar scent hits me the scent of the woods.
“L–Lucian?” I gasp, my heart racing as he leans heavily against me. His breathing is shallow, erratic, and I can feel his body trembling:
“Alpha Lucian!” Elijah calls out to him but Lucian doesn’t answer
“Stay back,” he mutters to me yet he doesn’t let me go, his voice is strained, as if he’s fighting something inside. His grip tightens on me, desperate, as though holding onto me is the only thing keeping him from collapsing completely.
I want to
to pull away, to push him off, but something in me freezes. The man who had once shattered my world, the man who had hurt me beyond measure, was in pain–rral, raw pain. And for some inexplicable reason, I couldn’t bring myself to abandon him at this moment.
“What’s wrong, Lucian? Are you okay, do you feel unwell?” I ask, but he doesn’t respond and for a moment, everything falls into a deadly silence, until he finally speaks
“Elara” Lurian whispers and I quickly try to steady him to his feet, desperate to understand what’s w
His hot breath fans against my neck, his voice dropping to a low murmur that feels almost foreign.

I don’t understand why I’m reacting this way, I can’t breathe, my chest tightening with an unfamiliar, suffocating fear, Goosebumps ripple down my arms as dread curls in my stomach.
“W–what did you say? Lucian, let me go right now! What do you think you’re doing?!” I try to push him away. but he doen’t move. Instead, he chuckles softly, an empty soinst that sends a chill down my spine as he pulls me in even closer.
“I said…” He exhales deeply, his hand slipping to the back of my head, holding me in place with an unsettling calmness. “I said, it’s good to see you after that day… you know, the day you lost everything”
I stare at him in shock, his words cutting through the air. I know exactly what he’s referring to–how could I not? That day, when Lucian threw me against the wall, was the day I lost everything.
I lost my child, the love I once had for him, and any hope that kept me going. It was all because of him.
My gaze narrows, and I clench my hands into fists, staring at nothing in particular. Anger rises from deep within roc, and all I can think about are The memories of that day.
