Tracking him down wasn’t difficult.
All I had to do was buy time until the police arrived.
Just as I was about to step out of the car, Brandon stopped me.
“Let me go with you, babe?”
I shot him a look, half–smiling, half–mocking.
“What’s your point in following me?”
I ruffled his hair and hopped out of the car.
In the garage, John was unconscious, and the other man was standing nearby, his expression dark.

“I… I don’t understand why Brandon’s so obsessed with you. He’d rather give up his turf than be without you.”
His words stumbled, and a wave of dizziness washed over me.
It turned out his brother had a longstanding grudge with the former Viper leader.
He’d confused me with that old man.
But by the time I became involved with Viper, the old leader was already a ghost of the
past.
Honestly, I was having a bit of bad luck dealing with such an intellectually–challenged opponent.
It wasn’t long before I had him cornered.
