Frank was anxious, his eyes flickering with panic as he stammered, “I mean, we’re about to get married, I hope you don’t give up on our years of relationship over such a small matter.“.

I smiled at him, “You think you kissing another woman is a small matter? Then go ask your mom if she can accept your dad betraying her.”
Frank was stunned, visibly getting angry.
“This is between us. It has nothing to do with my parents.”

After a day of work, I was really tired and had no intention of tagging with him.
Then, ignoring his attempts to stop me, I called a taxi and went home.
The first thing I did when I got home was to find the two gifts and call my parents to tell them I had broken up.
My parents were shocked upon hearing this.
My mom asked, “Why did you suddenly break up? What happened?”
I told her everything that had happened recently.
My mom was silent for a long time before sighing deeply.
“Okay, as long as you’ve thought it through, I support your decision. I’ll return the gifts Frank gave to your dad and me, so he can’t say we’re taking advantage of them.”
I agreed with my mother’s decision.
Although Frank’s family wasn’t short of money, I didn’t want to owe them anything.
The next day, I contacted his mom, Luna, to return the diamond necklace and bracelet.
Since these items were expensive, I had to return them personally.
His mom was at home, so I went to their house.
However, as soon as I arrived at their doorstep, I heard laughter and chatter from inside.
“Tracy, you know how to talk sweet. I really enjoy chatting with you.”
“Mrs. Connor, if you like, I’ll come by often to keep you company.”
Tracy’s voice was sweet and cheerful.
I initially felt guilty for disturbing Luna.
But after I heard their conversation, my guilt vanished.

I knocked on the door and entered. Luna saw me, and her smile deepened. She hurried over to me. “Eve, I made coconut milk soup. It’s just cooled down. Come and have a taste.”
Tracy saw me and was somewhat startled.
She lightly bit her lip, her eyes filled with reluctance.
But she quickly composed herself, smiling as she walked towards the kitchen. “Mrs. Connor’s cooking is
top–notch. I’ve already tasted it earlier. It’s really good.”
I wasn’t really in the mood to eat, so I just took a couple of sips.
“It’s indeed good. I guess the coconuts were the ones I bought earlier.”
Tracy’s smile faltered, changing from her previous smugness to a pitiful look at us.
Luna, being shrewd, naturally caught the implication in my words.
She told Tracy, “Tracy, you’re a guest, don’t go
into the kitchen. It’s messy. Go sit and rest.”
