Chapter 15
I stared at Harlan, my face calm. I could tell that Tamara was deliberately targeting me
After all, I had seen her with flowers in the office.
But I didn’t forget why I was here. For the sake of the performance bonus, I couldn’t lose my temper.
I lowered my head and said flatly, “I didn’t think this through. I honestly didn’t notice your pollen allergy.”
Harlan’s eyes were still on me, and there seemed to be lingering dissatisfaction.
I thought to myself that he was really an idiot.
Tamara’s voice softened again. “It’s okay, Charlene. I’m not blaming you, I hope you won’t be upset with Harlan. He’s just worried about me”
I simply nodded, not saying anything further.

I imagined she had been hoping to see me in pain or losing my composure.
That must’ve disappointed her, though. After all, I didn’t care much about Harlan
Not wanting to waste time, I quickly apologized. “Tamara, sorry for happened yesterday. I shouldn’t have discussed the plan with you without eating or you wouldn’t have had to go buy food, and you wouldn’t have spilled the peanut milk, which triggered your pollen allergy.” I paused for a moment and then said slowly, Tm truly sorry. I won’t let this kind of thing happen again”
As for that damn plan, whoever wanted to explain it to her could do it.
Tamara’s face twisted for a moment, but she still needed to act like an innocent girl in front of Harlan, so the meekly said, “It’s okay, Charlene.” Harlan’s gaze scanned me, and with that look, I inwardly scoffed. He must have picked up on my sarcasm and wanted me to apologize again. Just as I was weighing my words, Harlan spoke up. “Alright, since you’ve apologized, let’s drop it”
I looked up in surprise, just in time to meet Tamara’s shocked gaze.
Harlan, seemingly unaware, coldly told me. “Tamara hasn’t had dinner yet. Go buy something for her

with joy. She asked, “Charlene, is that okay“”
Tamara’s face lit up, and her voice was bright. “Charlene, I’ve been craving those little cakes from the shop in the east district. I wonder if you could bring one back for me?”
I glanced at her. I knew exactly which shop she was talking about, Before Tamara returned, Harlan and I often went there.
The cakes were delicious, but the line was always incredibly long. It would take about two hours for a round trip. Tamara seemed to realize something, covering her mouth innocently. “Is that too far?”
I scoffed “You’re aware of it now?”
Harlan furrowed his brow, “Just po
