Jack gifted Emma an island.
The whole family was shocked by his grand gesture, only I sneered.
My mom scolded me, “When you were with him, he didn’t even give you an island. You’re still renting that crappy apartment!”
The sarcastic words were on the tip of my tongue, but I didn’t say them out loud.

From the day they went to the island, Emma kept updating her social media and mentioning or tagging me in group chats and private messages.

She came back home with many specialties from the island. My aunt quickly arranged for everyone to go to her house to see the “island owner.“‘
I didn’t want to go originally, but my mom dragged me along, saying she wanted to motivate me to achieve financial freedom like my cousin as soon as possible, so that her task would be completed.
