Chapter 147
Jean was stunned. “What the hell? He changed his stance?!
“I don’t know what’s with him, either. I think he’s actually possessed. I can’t predict him,” I replied.
“He even said he’s gonna help Harry and that this was for my sake. He claimed he didn’t want me to ‘regret‘ what I did to him, so he was basically atoning for my sins. Or something.”
“Dafuq?! Is he actually hospitalized for insanity?!” Jean exclaimed.
I laughed tiredly. Even I had no explanation for any of this.
After the call, I thought about asking Soren about his invitation. But at the same time… I was too timid to bring it
- up.
I hadn’t received an invitation, after all.
Maybe we had some sort of psychic connection because he called me right at that moment.
I laughed when I saw his name–maybe we really were bound together in some way.
“Hello? Lord Soren, what is it?” I answered.
Since he wouldn’t let me call him Mr. Kenway, I figured I’d just be cheeky instead.
As expected, he laughed. “Really? You’re gonna address me like I’m your baron?”
“You want me to be casual with you when you’re actually blue–blooded! So I picked the best of both worlds,” I quipped.
“Well, if it delights you, I’ll allow it,” he said, amused. “Did you get the invitation from the National Academy? It’s their centennial next month.”
“Oh, so you’re onto this too!”
“Huh?”
“Jean called me earlier. The Faculty of Business has already notified their students, but I haven’t heard anything from mine,” I explained. “You got yours too, huh?”
Honestly, I felt a little jealous.
What if I was the only one who didn’t get an invitation? That would be so embarrassing.
“Yeap. The rector and the others called me just a while ago. Asked if I’d be available that day.”
Wow. So the rector and his people personally called Soren to ask if he’d like to show up.
The gap between his status and mine just kept getting wider.
I suddenly felt a mix of inferiority and admiration.
“I’m sure you’ll get invited too. You’re a famous alumnus,” Soren said. “If you decide to attend, I will too.”
My heart leapt. Did he just admit he’d only go if I did?!
I… I haven’t received any news yet. Maybe I’m not qualified enough,” I replied timidly.
“Will you be available on the 6th of next month?” he asked.

To be honest, no! I had a pile of commissions to complete finishing Soleil’s dress, preparing for next year’s Medhelanon fashion show–and just thinking about it made my head spin.
But this was a chance to revisit the university with Soren!
Although we came from different faculties and worlds, I doubted I’d even run into him during the celebration.
Still, I couldn’t help feeling excited.
“I can try to make time,” I said.
“I see, I see.”
What did he mean now? Was he planning to inform the university himself?!
“Today’s the day your divorce case is going to trial, right? How did it go?” he asked.
I was surprised. He remembered!
“Um… Edward’s sick. He’s hospitalized,” I said dryly. “So… it’s postponed.”
“Postponed? Till when?” Soren asked, startled.
