“Y–You black–hearted bitch of the century!” Cameron snarled, her voice quivering after breaking her teeth- grinding silence.
I smiled silently. They were the ones who had started everything–framing me, plotting my downfall–and yet, every time I managed to turn the tables on them, they projected their own shittiness onto me.
I just couldn’t believe people could be this shameless.
I was about to finish my chocolate drink when I saw her snatch up her coffee.
The moment her coffee came hurtling toward me, my body moved on its own. Without thinking, I flung mine at her as hard as I could.
I had put more force into my throw–and I had more hot chocolate than she had coffee. Thus, I won.
My drink drenched her, splattering some of her coffee back at her. Had she not already drunk most of it, I would have been soaked in this clash too.
God was on my side–I just knew it.
The sudden conflict shocked the other patrons.

Cameron stood frozen, still gripping her mug, stunned and dumbfounded.
I snapped out of my automatic response and grabbed several tissues, trying to wipe her off. “Oh my gosh, I’m sorry! My hand slipped!”
I did my best to dab at the stain.
Cameron was wearing a light–colored wool cardigan. The hot chocolate’s thick, sticky liquid left a disgusting blotch that only spread the more I wiped.
Somehow, her expression looked even worse than her ruined cardigan.
Cherry blurted out a laugh.
“Taylor!” Cameron shrieked at the top of her lungs, her voice breaking.
“Shush, Mrs. Jones. You’re attracting attention to your inglorious state!” I hushed her, doing my best to stifle a laugh.
“This cardigan was expensive, wasn’t it? And you’ll have to wear it for years… since you won’t be able to afford something like this again!
“That’s why I’m gonna make it up to you! I’ll give you some money so you can take it to the cleaners!”
I pulled out all the cash in my wallet.
“Oof. Not enough!” I feigned alarm. “I’ll have to Venmo you the rest for dry cleaning.”
I placed the cash on the table. She was so furious I could see her chest rising and falling in rage. Then I caught sight of how bulging her eyes were–and lost control. I laughed.
“You! You’re h–humiliating me!” she finally blurted.
“No, Mrs. Jones, I’m being sincere! Anyway, I need to go. Please get that cleaned as soon as possible!”
