If this were a few days ago, 1 would have been overjoyed and excited.
But now, I couldn’t shake the image of Edward as the paramedics tried to resuscitate him.
The thought of getting close to a guy I’d had my eye on made me feel ashamed. It felt like I was becoming one of those “pick–me” girls who couldn’t live without a man.
“I don’t think I can tonight,” I fibbed, “My grandma’s having me over for dinner.”

I hated myself.
I despised Edward. Lord knew how much I had prayed for a divorce. Yet, now that my dream was finally close to becoming a reality… why did I feel so conflicted?

While I waited for our divorce to be finalized, I received more good news.

The National Academy centennial was approaching fast. The suit I had made for Soren was finally finished too.

I chuckled tiredly, I agreed what a shithead. But after everything I’d been through with Edward, “The King of Shitheads,” I found Jean’s ex to be a small fry.
A new message popped up on my screen as we were talking I read it, my surprise and joy growing.
It was from my old roommate, Amanda Collins. We had always been close friends back then.
After graduation, she’d returned to her hometown of Clannon. Fast–forward to today, and she was the editor–in- chief of the renowned fashion magazine, Herstory.
