Violet’s POV
“She said no, Daniel,” Ryan said, shocking me. What the hell was he doing here?
Daniel turned and looked at Ryan with a shocked expression. Both Ryan and Daniel began to stare into space. It seemed like they were daydreaming or something. Then, a few seconds later, they appeared to come back to reality.
“I am so sorry, Alpha. It won’t happen again,” Daniel said and basically ran out of the restaurant. When he was talking to Ryan, his face looked pale, and he looked scared of him. I wondered why Daniel called Ryan Alpha.
I looked at Ryan to see him staring at me. I couldn’t take my eyes off him as we stared at each other. I noticed that he looked exhausted, and his hair was messy as if he had just hopped out of bed without fixing it. When I met him, his eyes seemed to be full of life, but at that moment, they weren’t.
“What are you doing here, Brother?” Emily said as she walked over to him.
“I came to speak to Violet,” Ryan said. Why would he want to talk to me? I thought he didn’t like me.
“Well, we are busy,” Emily said, glaring at her brother, but he paid her no mind.

affecting me like that. I stared at him without saying a word.
“I want to apologize to you for how I spoke to you at my parent’s Anniversary party. I have felt terrible since that day. Even if Sofia was your daughter, I shouldn’t have treated you like that. Can you please forgive me and let us start over as friends?” Ryan said.
I was happy he apologized to me, and a part of me wanted to accept his apology, but another part was screaming at me not to forgive him so easily. I was feeling so many emotions that I didn’t understand. The two main emotions I felt were mad and hurt because I felt he had betrayed me.
“There you are, Ry. I have been looking everywhere for you.” I looked to see Jane walking over.
“What are you doing here, Jane?” Ryan asked. I could tell he was frustrated by his voice.
“We need to go get Sofia,” I told Emily, and she nodded. I hurried out of the restaurant and waited for Emily in the car. About a minute later, Emily walked out and hopped into the driver’s seat.
“Are you okay?” Emily asked, looking at me with concern
“Yes, I am fine.” I looked into the restaurant to see Ryan looking directly at me. Jane placed her hand on his chest. I looked away as Emily drove away from the restaurant, feeling a pain in my chest, thinking of Jane’s hands on him.

I was upset when I walked into the restaurant to see one of the Pack Members flirting with my Mate. He had the nerve to ask her out on a date.
“How dare you ask my Mate out on a date?” I mind–linked him. I wanted to break his neck. I could see his face begin to pale when he realized that Violet was my Mate.
“I am sorry, Alpha Ryan. I had no idea,” Daniel linked back. I wasn’t Alpha yet but was still respected by everyone because I would soon become Alpha now that I had found my Luna, and Violet would become my Luna once I won her heart.
“Well, make sure it doesn’t happen again and let any other male that’s around Violet the same,” I linked before cutting the link.
He ran away like a pup, and Violet looked confused. Emily was yelling at me, and I understood why. I had hurt my Mate and her best friend, and I planned on correcting my mistakes. So, I ignored Emily and put all my attention on Violet.
I apologized to her for everything I said and asked for her forgiveness and if we could start over as friends. I hated the word friends because I wanted so much more with her, but Violet was human and had no idea about the Mate Bond. So I knew I could have to take things slow. Plus, after I caused her pain, I knew she wouldn’t come running into my arms so quickly.
“There you are, Ry. I have been looking everywhere for you,” Jane said as she walked over to me.
“What are you doing here, Jane?” I asked angrily. After everything that happened with Violet, I told her to stay away from me.

Violet told Emily they needed to get her little sister and quickly walked out of the restaurant and got in the passenger side of the car. I could see the pain in her eyes as she sat waiting for my sister. I knew it was because of Jane, and I turned and glared at her. “What the fuck are you doing here, Jane? Didn’t I make it clear I wanted you to stay away from me from now on?” I asked
“I know, Ry. But I wanted to make sure you were okay after what happened with your sister’s friend,” Jane said.
“Oh, my Goddess. I can’t believe you would let that whore keep messing up things with your Mate. You don’t deserve her,” Emily said.
“Emily, I,” I started to say, but she cut me off.

“I don’t want to hear your excuses. She is the reason you those mean things to your Mate, and you are still hanging around her,” Emily said and quickly walked out of the restaurant. I wanted to tell her I had not been anywhere near Jane and that this was the first time I had seen her since that day. But I knew she wouldn’t listen to me.
I looked out the window at my beautiful Mate, who seemed so sad, and I knew it was because of me. Suddenly I felt Janes’s hand on my chest, and I looked at her. I felt disgusted by her touch and quickly moved it away from me. “What the hell are you doing, Jane? Don’t fucking touch me.
“I am sorry, Ry. Are you mad at me because of your sister’s friend?” Jane asked
“Her name is Violet, and as I told you at my parent’s
Anniversary party, she is my Mate,” I growled, causing a frown
to appear on Jane’s face.

“I took it back. I made a mistake by rejecting her and have accepted Violet as my Mate. I want you to stay away from me. You and I are over, so don’t make me tell you again, or there
will be consequences,” I said and walked out of the restaurant.
I needed to figure out how to win my Mates heart.
