Chapter 12
Ryan’s POV
“Training is over. All of you enjoy the rest of your day,” I said as I ended training early for the warriors. It has been hard for me to get out of bed and do daily things since I hurt my Mate.
“Are you okay, man? You haven’t been acting like yourself.” My best friend, Carter, asked as we headed toward the Packhouse.
“I messed up,” I replied, not saying anything else.
“With my sister? You know she will forgive you. She told me you got into it,” Carter replied
“That is not what I am talking about. When Emily came here with her friend Violet at my parent’s anniversary party, I found out she was my Mate,” I said
“I know. Jane told me at your parent’s anniversary party. She told me you rejected her because she was a human and had a kid. Everyone in the Pack thinks you rejected her and has been talking about it,” Carter said. I knew I would have set things straight with the Pack and let them know that Violet would be their Luna and not to disrespect her, or they would be punished.
“That is partly true,” I said and told him everything that happened that day. I told him how Jane told me Violet had a child and was flirting with Tyson. I told him I found out Violet didn’t even meet Tyson, so Jane lied to get me to reject her. I

also told him how I took back my rejection and planned on winning her heart.
“Damn, I didn’t know all of that happened. I don’t know why you believed Jane. You know my sister has always wanted to become your Luna. You had just told her you were going to choose her as your chosen Mate and then found your real one. You should have known Jane was up to something.” Carter said. I couldn’t be mad at him because I knew he was right. “So the little girl is her sister?” Carter asked
“Yep, but even if she was her daughter, I had no right to reject her because of it. It’s not like I have been waiting for her without being with anyone else,” I said
“True. After what you said to her, it will take a lot to win her heart. I heard she was in a lot of pain after you rejected her,” Carter said
“I took it back and accepted her as my Mate and Luna,” I growled.
“I know, man. Calm down. I am only being honest,” Carter said, and I let out a breath.
“I’m sorry, man. I know I fucked up, and it’s hard to think of how I hurt her. What makes it worse is she was in pain and didn’t know why,” I said
“Yeah, it’s going to be hard to tell her the truth about werewolves,” Carter replied
“Believe me, I know. I plan on telling Violet after I gain her trust and win her heart. I hope you will accept me.”
A child bumped into me when I walked inside the Packhouse. I

was shocked to see it was Sofia. Did that mean Violet was
here as well?
“You need to be more careful, sweetheart,” I said with a smile on my face.
“Oh hey, Ryan,” my mom said.
“Hey, mom. Is Violet here?” I asked, hopeful.
“No. She and Emily are at the library working on a project. Emily told me Jane was their partner on the project and was meeting them at the library. I didn’t know Jane was going to school with them,” My mom said
“Yeah, She just started going. I think she is up to something,” I said
“You are probably right. The girl doesn’t want you with
anyone but her,” my mom said. We walked into the kitchen, where she and some Pack Members were cooking dinner for the entire Pack.
“Hey Sofia, would you like to go to the park,” I asked, and she smiled and nodded her head.
“Mom, I am going to take Sofia to the park, okay?” I asked
“Okay, son.” Sofia and I walked to the park. I pushed her on the swing, and then she played with the other younger kids. Emily was such a sweet child, and I felt like an idiot for being upset with Violet over her. I shouldn’t have been upset about her if Sofia was Violet’s child.
After she played, I took her to the ice cream shop, got her an ice cream cone, and headed back to the Packhouse. About

five minutes later, I heard Emily and Violet walking inside.
Violet seemed shocked when I told her I had taken Sofia to the park to get some ice cream. I was happy when she agreed to stay the night at the Packhouse. I hoped I would get a chance to speak with her again about us starting over as friends. I didn’t only want to be her friend. I wanted so much more with her but knew I would have to win her over. Especially after the way I treated her the first day I met her. I knew it would be a lot of work, but I was willing to do anything to make Violet mine.
After dinner, I walked with Violet, Emily, and Sofia to Emily’s room. I wished Violet would be staying in my room but knew that was impossible. I asked Violet if I could talk to her privately, and she agreed. Once we were in the hallway, I asked Violet if we could be friends, but to my disappointment, she said she wasn’t ready to be my friend. I felt bad because she thought I had a problem with Sofia, but I knew I was the only one to blame for her feeling that way. I knew I was going to prove that I cared for both her and Sofia.
I wanted to hit the wall when I heard Jane’s voice behind me. I
asked what she wanted, and she said she wanted to talk to me about something. To my disappointment, Violet went to Emily’s room.
“What do you want, Jane?” I asked annoyed
“I wanted to see if you have come to your senses about making me your chosen mate?” Jane asked
“You know I have found my Mate Jane. You will never be my Luna, and I have already told you that we are over,” I replied and started walking toward my room.

“One more thing Jane.” I turned back around to look at her.
“Yes, Ry?” She asked
“My mom and Emily told me you asked the teacher to be partnered with Violet on a project and that you asked if she would like to be your friend. Why did you do that?” I asked
“I wanted to be her friend. I know she is new to town and only knows your sister. I was only trying to be nice,” Jane said, but I knew she was lying.
“I know you are lying. You better not do anything to my Mate Jane. If you hurt her, I will kill you,” I said seriously. I could see she was frightened, and she knew I wasn’t lying.
I turned around and walked into my room before she could say anything else.
