Chapter 212
“Do you care what others think of us?” Edward asked.
“I’m not as shameless as you, so of course I care. Anyway, we shouldn’t meet tomorrow. I wish you all the best,” I retorted.
I set my a
arm down and ended the call, which had completely ruined my mood.
However, it only affected me for a moment. Soon, I began checking the weather forecast for tomorrow’s centennial and started deciding what I would wear.
Of course, I was going to take my outfit choice seriously since it was the anniversary of my old academy.
I woke up early the next morning and spent over an hour getting myself ready.
That was when my phone rang. My lips curled when I saw who it was. “Hello there, you’re up early.”
Soren replied, “It’s already 8:30 am. It’s going to be 10:00 am. by the time we get there.”
The National Academy was in another district of Metropolis, which usually took about an hour to reach. However, heavy traffic could easily throw off that timing.
“Okay, I’ll be right down.”
I was about to hang up when a thought occurred to me. “Do you want me to bring your trench coat down? I was going to get it dry–cleaned, but I got a little busy in the end.”
“Keep it. I won’t be needing if anytime soon,” he replied.
“Alright. I’ll return it to you once I’ve had it cleaned.”
“Sure.”
After hanging up, I glanced at the mirror. I was satisfied with my appearance. It was true that a woman’s mood improved when she felt she looked pretty.
Once I put on my shoes, I felt a surge of nervous hurried downstairs.

But the smile on my face instantly froze when I saw Edware standing by the staircase as I opened the door.
I had clearly refused to meet him at the academy the day before, but here he was, uninvited. It looked like he had been waiting for a while.
“You look stunning today, Taylor!” Edward complimented when he saw me.
He was, of course, still handsome, but I no longer felt anything for him. My heart didn’t flutter in the slightest.
I stepped aside, refusing to acknowledge him. “Get lost. I don’t have time to waste on you today. However, he grabbed my arm and said, “You’re too beautiful to be driving yourself, Taylor. Are you really planning to take the subway and cram in with a bunch of strangers? I’ll have the driver take us there and pick us up later tonight, okay?”
Edward was trying his best to win me over, but all I felt was disgust.
Just as I was about to lose my temper and lash out at him, a gentle yet powerful voice called out. “Taylor!!!

I turned at once, my eyes lighting up.
Soren had arrived in his majestic Rolls Royce to pick me up, dressed in a luxurious, tailor–made suit that accentuated his handsome features. And I was the one who had made that suit for him.
Unable to contain my excitement, I flashed him a polite smile. “Good morning, Mr. Kenway.”
Edward turned, his face hardening with a cold glare as he watched Soren approach.
Edward sneered. “What’s the meaning of this, Kenway? Taylor and I aren’t officially divorced yet, and you’re already trying to take her from me?”
Frowning, I pulled Edward aside. “We’re just friends, so stop accusing him of anything.”
“Heh! I’m no fool. You two have been having an affair for a long time,” Edward retorted. “In fact, you were the one who told me you’d already slept together when you got drunk last time.”
