Ruth let out a hearty laugh. “You have the audacity to question me? If you hadn’t meddled in my affairs, would I have ended up in such a predicament? At such young age, I was a prodigy in the finance industry. But because of you, my reputation was ruined. I was disowned by my family and scorned by everyone! Madelyn, do you have any idea how much I despise you?”
