“Janie! Hold up! Ryan hollered.
Janie med, her face a blank canvas, and asked, “What’s up?”
Seeing her chill attitude, Ryan felt a wave of anger rise up. He shot back, “What’s going on with you and Emily? Why did you just walk away?”
Janie replied indifferently, “Why don’t you take that up with her? I’m in the dark too?
Emily felt a stab of sorrow as she wiped her tears away. “It’s not their fault, they haven’t done anything wrong I know I’m an unpleasant person.”
Jamie had no waves within her heart. For so many years, she had traveled the world and seen all kinds of people. At the moment, she was somewhat glad she had come.
Jackson hailed from a distinguished, talented lineage, yet he had a knack for arrogance and was all too swayed by popular sentiment. He might not give a fig, though. She genuinely cared.
David frowned, a flicker of disgust crossing his features. He can’t stand her.
If not for his connection to Emily and their shared workplace, he wouldn’t have bothered showing up; he was only here for the variety show.
Janie smiled softly. “Did you hear that? It’s none of our business.

Ryan spoke with a tinge of disappointment, Janie! You’ve become so odd. I’m really disappointed.”
Janie kept silent. She had always been like this before, and Ryan had never been happy with her.

Jackson demanded angrily, “What do you mean? What’s wrong with our Janie?”
Janie replied to Ryan calmly, “Are we that close? Why do I have to make you happy with me?”

He felt a lump in his throat, overwhelmed with embarrassment. As Janie’s brother, he was being scolded by her.
Xena exhaled in relief. She said, “Janie, my brother didn’t mean anything by it. He just noticed you’re around my age, so he probably sees you as a sister”
Janie glanced at her with a faint smile while Xena felt a pang of guilt.

Being around Janie, he might not have applied what he had learned, but he would surely imitate it.
Xena opened her mouth but found herself speechless.

Jackson, on the other hand, tilted his chin at Ryan defiantly.
Xena grabbed Ryan and whispered, “Let it go.” Ryan had to swallowed his anger.

The tension was thick in the air. Emily cried louder, getting Xena and the others‘ attention.
Janie smiled and said, “We’ll go; you guys can keep at it.” She glanced at Jackson. “Let’s go.”
Jackson quickly nodded in agreement. David joined in too.
Xena then said, “Mr. Smith, you’re in the same group as Miss Yates. Aren’t you worried about her?”
David glanced at her and said, “We’re going to ride bikes, but she can’t ride one, so it makes sense we can’t go together.
“Plus, even though she invited me, no one said we had to team up, right?”
Xena’s expression hardened once more. She thought, ‘I heard that David was gentle and elegant, why did he change once he got involved with Janie?”
Emily buried his face in his hands and said, “You’re right, we don’t have to be a team. Just go.” She cried even more sadly, making David speechless.
He didn’t know her before, but now he was finding her annoying. People who didn’t understand might think they were ganging up on her.
“How can we leave with you like this? If we go, won’t it be true that we’ve been bullying you together?” Janie said with a
sarcastic smile.
Emily secretly felt resentment but said. “No, you didn’t bully me.”
Xena gazed at her with a heavy heart.

Molly was utterly bewildered and lost.
Ryan was increasingly disappointed in Janie.
Janie didn’t care what they thought. She continued, “If you say we’re not wrong, then explain it clearly. Don’t claim it’s not our fault while you’re crying. To others, it looks like we’re the ones bullying you.”
She smiled softly, but there was no warmth in her eyes. “If you have something to say, just be honest.”
