Phoebe gave him a half smile and placed the rib back onto his plate. “You’re the one who should eat more. You work hard every day.”

Jennifer, who had been holding back her anger, finally couldn’t take it anymore. Her eyes reddened as she looked at Declan. “Deck, have you forgotten what you promised me?!”
Declan’s expression shifted slightly. He remained silent.
Sensing the tension in the air, Liam stepped in to smooth things over. “Mr. Richardson, I’d like to offer a toast to you.”
Declan didn’t refuse, raising his glass and taking a sip. Liam then steered the conversation elsewhere. The atmosphere eased somewhat after that.
Once Phoebe finished eating, she set her fork down, stood up, and said, “I’m done.”
She then turned to leave, but Declan grabbed her wrist, his grip so firm that she couldn’t break free. “What are you doing, Declan?” she demanded in a low, irritated tone.
Declan’s expression was cold as he replied, “Stay with me. I’m almost done eating.”
“I’m going out for a walk.”
“I’ll go with you.”
Annoyance flickered in Phoebe’s eyes. Just as she was about to speak, Liam interjected, “Phoebe, stay and keep Mr. Richardson company for a bit. He’s been drinking all evening and barely touched his food. Help him with some dishes.”
Hearing this, Phoebe shot Liam a sarcastic smile. “Didn’t you already arrange for Jennifer to serve him? She was clearly doing a fantastic job. She should continue.”
Jennifer’s face twisted with rage. She had been deliberately acting considerate to make Phoebe uncomfortable, but Phoebe’s remark made her seem like nothing more than a waitress.
She stood up, looking at Phoebe with hurt eyes. “Pheebs, I only helped Declan because you were too focused on your meal. If it bothers you, I won’t do it again.”
Phoebe found her overly dramatic display of victimhood tiresome. She raised a brow and scoffed, “How considerate of you. Oh, and thank you for sleeping with him.”
Jennifer went pale, her body shaking, unable to say a word.
A loud bang echoed as Olivia slammed her fork down on the table.
She glared at Phoebe in disgust and scolded, “You’ve failed as a wife, and yet you have the audacity to criticize Jennie?! Besides, Jennie has been close to Mr. Richardson since childhood. Are you seriously jealous over her serving him food?”
Phoebe chuckled and declared firmly, “I’m not jealous. She’s doing great, so I said she should continue.”
“You have gone too far!” Olivia shouted.
The air in the dining room became thick with tension. Phoebe smiled and said, “Enjoy your meal. I’ll be heading back.
As Olivia watched her leave, her face darkened with fury. “Phoebe! If you dare step out of this house today, don’t bother coming back!”
“Olivia!” Liam roared, his eye blazing with rage as he fixed her with an accusatory stare.

Before Phoebe arrived, he had warned Olivia to control her temper. Yet, she had failed to hold back. If this upset Declan, the Greene family would pay the price.
Declan glanced indifferently at Jennifer, who was still crying, then said. “I’ll be leaving as well. Thank you hospitality, Ms. Greene.”

Liam’s face stiffened. He hesitated before gathering his courage to ask, “Mr. Richardson… about the project we discussed in the study earlier…”
Declan replied with an expressionless face, “The Greene Group is welcome to bid. Whether you win or not depends on your own capabilities.”
Liam felt a pang of disappointment, but getting a chance to bid was already a step forward. He quickly said, “Understood. Thank you, Mr. Richardson. Let me see you out.”
“Don’t bother,” Declan replied.
As he stepped out of the Greene family estate, Jennifer caught up with him and asked, “Deck, do you not love me anymore?”
