Maxton had initially planned to take her to the shooting range for practice. However, seeing her in such a state of exhaustion, he was genuinely worried.
“Can you still practice in this state?”
“I can!” Madelyn asserted, nodding her head resolutely.
Seeing her persistence, Maxton let her be.
He simply advised, “Don’t push yourself too hard if you can’t manage it.”
“Don’t worry,” Madelyn assured.
At that moment, Jillian, who was nearby, overheard their plan of heading over to the shooting range. She immediately came up to them and asked, “Madelyn, can I tag along? I’ve never seen a shooting range before.”
Madelyn chuckled, promptly agreeing. “Of course you can.”

She immediately took out her phone and sent a message to Sebastian: Darling, I won’t be coming to see you today. Remember to eat once you’re done with work, okay? Love you.
At the end of the WhatsApp message, a heart gesture emoji was added.
Madelyn felt fulfilled after completing all that and contentedly went off to train.
At that time, Sebastian was in the middle of a meeting in the conference room.
Upon seeing her message, a gentle smile unintentionally graced his lips.
“All right, let’s pause the meeting here for now. Everyone go grab a bite to eat and we’ll resume in an hour.” After finishing his statement, Sebastian walked straight out of the conference room.
Everyone exchanged glances, wondering what on earth had just happened.
Back then, everyone would endure their hunger until the meeting was over.
“Sebastian.” At that moment, Harriet suddenly caught up with Sebastian.
“What’s wrong?” Sebastian asked, his face devoid of emotion.
“Shall we have dinner together tonight?” Harriet proposed without any hesitation. “I’ve been back for a few days now, and we haven’t had a chance to catch up, have we?”
“No, I’m a bit tied up at the moment. You should ask Wesley to accompany you.”
With that, Sebastian turned and entered his office.
Harriet’s face paled, but she had no choice but to leave, albeit reluctantly.
Upon returning to his office, Sebastian made a phone call to Madelyn.
“Where are you now?” Sebastian asked as soon as the call connected.

Madelyn couldn’t help but frown. “Coach, can you please demonstrate?”
Maxton immediately picked up the replica gun, raised it and fired a shot, hitting the bull’s–eye.
The shot left Madelyn dumbfounded.

Upon witnessing his marksmanship, Jillian was equally stunned. In a meek voice, she asked, “May I give it a try as well?”
Immediately, a server presented her with a replica gun.
Then, Jillian lifted her hand, squinted her eyes to aim, and fired. Bang!
The bullet soared straight up into the sky.
