“Deck, what are you doing?” Jennifer stared at the two of them in disbelief. She never expected to see Declan holding Phoebe so tightly.
Even back when they were deeply in love, Declan had never embraced Jennifer like this.
For a moment, a tidal wave of jealousy threatened to consume her.
Declan clearly had not expected Jennifer to be here. He instinctively let go of Phoebe.
A flicker of mockery flashed in Phoebe’s eyes as she stepped into the elevator. “Take your time and talk. I will not interrupt. your little love story.”
She shut the elevator doors before Declan’s angry gaze could reach her.
However, as soon as the elevator began to move, Phoebe suddenly realized a problem. Her room key card and driver’s license were both with Declan. She had no way to get into her room, but going back to him now was not an option.
She pressed the button for the twentieth floor. If she remembered correctly, there was an indoor swimming pool on that floor, along with a restaurant. Finding a place to eat and rest for a while seemed like a good idea.
When she arrived at the twentieth floor, Phoebe had just found a restaurant and sat down when she unexpectedly ran into Mason. “Phoebe, what are you doing here?”
Phoebe smiled. “Just here for the weekend. What about you?”
“My new movie has a few scenes being filmed here, so I came for work. I just arrived today. I did not expect to run into you so soon,” Mason said.
Phoebe nodded. “I will not keep you from your work, then. Go ahead.”
“It is not that urgent. Filming officially starts tomorrow. I just had a meeting with the director and the other actors; it just wrapped up,” he explained.
“Got it. How long are you staying?” Phoebe asked.
“About a week or so. By the way, do you remember saying you would treat me to a meal?” Mason asked.
Phoebe raised an eyebrow in surprise. “You just had a meal with the director. Aren’t you full?”
Mason sat down across from her with a helpless smile. “You know how it is. When you eat with the director, most of the time
spent talking. I barely got a few bites in.”

Phoebe could not help but chuckle as she handed him the menu. “Then take a look and order whatever you want.”
“Thanks,” Mason said.
After they ordered, Mason poured Phoebe a glass of water and looked at her. “Did you come alone?”
Phoebe shook her head. “No, I came with
my
husband.”
“Mr. Richardson?” Mason’s eyes darkened slightly, and his voice dropped a bit. “So, you two made up?”
For some reason, Phoebe suddenly remembered what Declan had said before that Mason liked her.
Her fingers unconsciously tightened around the glass, but she quickly dismissed the thought. “That is overthinking things. I have been Mason’s agent behind the scenes for over a year. If he really liked me, he would not have waited until after I got

married to say anything, she wondered.
With that thought, she looked at Mason and said, “No, we are just putting on a front”

Mason was silent for a moment before suddenly saying, “If you need a divorce lawyer, I can introduce you to one.”
As soon as he finished speaking, a cold voice cut in from behind. “Mason, this is between Phoebe and me. There is no need for you to concern yourself.”
Mason turned to see Declan walking over, his expression icy.
A dangerous glint flashed in his eyes, but he did not back down, meeting Declan’s gaze head–on.
Their eyes clashed midair, sparks flying instantly, the tension thick with hostility.
Phoebe frowned slightly, her gaze turning cold as she looked at Declan. There was not a hint of warmth in her eyes.
