It was hard to say no to all of this. But 1 hesitated.
Moving into another man’s house alone felt like handing myself over to him. It would be easy for things to happen, right? Roommates could turn into something more with just the right spark.
And what about when we broke up? I’d have to pack my bags and leave all over again, like last time. That had been humiliating enough. Maybe… not?
I couldn’t tell him that, though. Not when he was looking at me with such loving eyes.
So instead, I said, “I’m really not picky about where I live. It’s just a shelter for me to sleep under. There’s no real difference between a big house and a small apartment.”

He led me outside. As I studied his handsome profile, my guilt only deepened. “Did you bring me here just to talk about this?”
“Yeah. Your unit is a bit far from where I work, and the area you’re staying in is pretty old…”
Back then, I hadn’t chosen my place carefully. I just needed to find somewhere–anywhere–to live as soon as possible, just to get out of that villa.
Oh, that reminded me—I still hadn’t transferred the villa’s ownership to Edward. I should tell him tomorrow after the session. He had handed over the money so easily at the time, and I had spent it, too. I should return the house
