“Where are you? Will you be able to get home on your own?‘ he asked.
“I, uh… I’m at the municipal office. There’s a train station nearby, so I’ll be fine,” I answered truthfully.
Soren sounded puzzled. “The municipal office? What are you doing there?”
“I’m meeting Edward to process a property transfer,” I replied.
Soren wouldn’t know the details since I had never mentioned them before, so I gave him a brief explanation. There’s a villa that was under both our names. I gave up my share when I desperately needed money to buy back my mother’s bracelet. After everything that happened, we never got around to officially transferring ownership.”
Soren listened intently before asking. “So you’re doing it today because his sister apologized and you two reached an agreement?”
I was surprised. “You saw the apology video?”
“Yes. That’s why I called to check on you.”
I nodded. “That’s right. Once the property transfer is completed, I’ll be completely free of any ties with him. I’ll also have Ace issue the letter of forgiveness to resolve Edith’s case.”
Soren fell silent.
Sensing something was off, I softened my tone. “Why aren’t you saying anything? Are you… upset?”

“It’s our turn now, Taylor,” Edward interrupted before I could finish.
I glanced back at him and nodded before quickly saying, “They just called our number. I need to take care of this. I’ll explain everything once I’m done, okay? Bye!”
