Chapter 333
Cameron glowered in silence.
“It’s fucking cold out here!” Miles snapped. “Do we really need to have this pointless chit–chat here? I want to get into the fucking car now!”
He yanked the handle, but the door wouldn’t budge.
“Open the damn door, bitch!” he snarled, not even bothering to use my name.
“Don’t be impatient,” I replied with a smirk.
Miles glanced at his parents, looking confused.
“You’re just here to be a little troll, aren’t you?” Harry finally addressed me for the first time.
“Maybe a little,” I admitted, grinning. “I’m enjoying how pathetic you look. I can’t wait to tell Mom about this!”
Harry’s face darkened with fury. “Screw her! We’re taking my own car!”
He tried to move, with Cameron supporting him, but I cut in, “If you walk away from me right now, you’ll never see another cent from me.”
His struggle to move told me just how serious his condition was.
As expected, Cameron held him back, whispering, “No! Your life comes first!”
“She’s kicking us while we’re down, Cameron!” Harry spat
“I know! But if that means getting money for your hospital bills, then so be it!”
“No! I’ll get it from Lola instead! There’s no way my sister would let me suffer!”
Cameron let out a bitter laugh. “Oh, you still think anyone in your family has a heart or a conscience? I’ve tried appealing to her, Harry.
“You know what I got? Peanuts. She treated me like a waitress begging for tips.
“Oh, and her husband and nephew? They couldn’t wait to beat me up while they were at it.”
They thought they were speaking quietly, but I heard every word. So that was why Cameron had given up on Lola.
Ha. If only they knew what awaited them on my side. The torment I had planned would feel just as real as any physical threat.
While they were still scrambling for a plan, the Uber I’d called pulled up.
“Alright, folks. Get in the car,” I called out.
Cameron shot me a wary look. “Whose car? What’s this about?”
I was about to answer when my phone rang.
It was Soren!
I thought he’d never call after last night’s silent treatment.
I hesitated before answering. “Hello?”
“Tay–Tay?” Soren’s voice was rough, gravelly. He sounded groggy. “Morning. You home? I’ll come get you in an

hour, yeah?”
“Get me?” I echoed, confused. “Weren’t you ignoring me? Where exactly are you taking me?”
“Pardon me?”
“–”
The Uber driver honked. I glanced out the window and motioned for the others to get in.
“White car, people,” I called. “I even got you a ride, free of charge. Aren’t I nice?”
Cameron narrowed her eyes. “Why?”
“You find us disgusting, huh?! Is that why you won’t let us ride in your car?!” Miles snapped.
“No, no,” I said with mock patience. “I just don’t trust you not to pull something while we’re all in my car. Three against one? That’s not exactly a fair fight.”
That was only half the truth. The other half? I found them too revolting to let them anywhere near my car.
Soren must have overheard some of it.
“Are you with someone?” he asked. “Not home again?”
“Yeah. Something came up with my family, so I can’t visit with you today. I’m so-”
