At this point, Madelyn had already made a frantic escape, her strength severely depleted.
Yet, the young men behind were as pumped up as ever and chased after her swiftly.
In no time at all, they seized Madelyn and grabbed her by her four limbs,
“Who are you guys? Let me go!” She immediately put up a struggle.
“It doesn’t matter who we are. All you need to know is that you’ve crossed someone you shouldn’t have,” they responded icily.
Then, the group hoisted her up and shoved her into a black van parked by the roadside.
“Help! Save me!”
Madelyn screamed her lungs out inside the vehicle, not giving up her struggle for even a moment.
The men watched in exasperation.
Then, they stuffed a worn–out towel into her mouth and covered her head with a sack.
Two hours passed.
Madelyn had passed out at some point without realizing it. When she came to, she found herself bound tightly to a chair, unable to move a muscle.
She cussed under her breath before scanning her surroundings.
She was now somewhere incredibly spacious, but the building was in a state of disrepair. Dust was scattered everywhere, and the ceiling was adorned with bare scaffolding and rusty steel bars. Every corner was piled high with all sorts of scrap metal and broken copper pieces.
If her guess was correct, this place appeared to be an abandoned factory.
A few individuals clad in black were stationed next to her at that moment, keeping a close watch on her every move.
Two subordinates were even arranged to stand guard at the exit.
Madelyn couldn’t help but curse her bad luck.

At that moment, a distinct sound of footsteps echoed from the entrance.
Then, in came Hayden Blume, followed by a few of his subordinates..

She shot him an irritated glance right away. “I was just wondering who would ever stoop so low, and it turned out to be you. You’re despicable!”
“Who are you calling despicable?” Hayden was taken aback.
“Precisely the one I’m speaking to right now,” the woman stated contemptuously.
Hayden nearly choked from the rage. Unable to hold back any longer, he stepped forward and slapped her across the face
Slap! A crisp sound echoed through the air.
“You dare hit me?” Madelyn reeled from the impact, her eyes widening in disbelief.
“What’s wrong with that? Have some guts to fight back!” Hayden roared with laughter.
“How about you grow a pair and release me!”
Madelyn struggled while seething. If she weren’t tied up right now, she would have loved to slap him dead.
Yet, the man’s laughter only grew louder. “I won’t do that. So, what are you going to do about it? Go ahead and hit me!”
“Oh, I remember you were quite the show–off last time, weren’t you? I’d like to see you try that again now!” he added provocatively.
Seeing how shameless he was made Madelyn boil with resentment, and she spat on his face without a second thought.
“You think you’re so glorious, huh? But the truth is a loser like you is only capable of such shameful deeds. That’s why Josiah’s always been ten thousand times better than you! In fact, it’s unbelievable that you’re actually a soldier. To me, you’re nothing but a piece of useless, unworthy trash!”
“Madelyn Thornton!”
Without a doubt, Hayden was livid.
He wiped the spit off his face. “You’re calling me a piece of trash? Josiah is ten thousand times better than me? Fine, then! I can’t wait to see how he plans to save you today!”
With that, he gave his subordinate a knowing look.
Immediately, alarm bells started ringing in Madelyn’s heart.
Back at Elite Club, Josiah had just arrived in a panic.
“Have you found them?” he asked Sebastian upon seeing him.

At that moment, a middle–aged man dressed in a tailored suit walked in their direction.

Upon seeing the group, he bowed before reporting, “Boss, the surveillance you requested is all set up.”
Sebastian stepped forward right away. “Let’s go take a look.”
Following that, the group made their way to the surveillance room to review the footage.
Surveillance showed Madelyn first having a heated discussion with Wesley. She then stormed off, visibly
upset.
It was at that moment a few individuals clad in black trailed behind her, following her up to the doorstep.
Madelyn appeared to have sensed something unusual and took off running, but the men behind her promptly gave chase.
Wesley was initially somewhat tipsy, but upon seeing this footage, he snapped to attention, completely sobering up.
“I’m sorry, Sebastian,” he said, filled with remorse. “It’s all my fault-”
“What the hell happened?” Sebastian demanded frostily.
It seemed like they were having quite a huge argument in the video.
Sighing, Wesley had no choice but to explain the whole situation.
Then, he apologized again. “I shouldn’t have gotten so worked up, and I definitely should’ve taken better care of her. I’m sorry.
Sebastian was at a loss for words, but given the urgency of the situation, he didn’t have time to reproach Wesley.
Instead, he frantically turned to Josiah. “Did Hayden ever get in touch with you? Did he mention where he might be going?”
Josiah shook his head helplessly. “He didn’t tell me anything”
Suddenly, his phone rang
Hayden hastily pulled out his device and was surprised to find a text message from Hayden.
Hayden: I’m giving you one hour, Josiah. If you don’t manage to find us, this woman can say goodbye to her hands. I remember oh so clearly the way she once used these very hands to humiliate me….
Josiah’s face turned pale once he was done reading the text.
“This guy’s nothing but an sshole!” he cussed.
“What is it?” Sebastian asked hurriedly.

It was clear that Josiah still held a grudge about what had happened at Felix’s banquet. 1 the way Madelyn had humiliated him back then.
