Without a trace of embarrassment, Soren casually slipped an arm around my shoulders and announced, “I’ll cover everyone’s return tickets. First class for everyone.
“Whoa! Thank you, Mr. Kenway!”
“Thank you, Mr. Kenway! Thank you, Miss Jones!”
Amid the cheers, my coworkers elbowed each other, laughing as they dispersed. “Come on, let’s head to immigration. We’ll just be in the way of the lovebirds here,
Too embarrassed to continue acting all lovey dovey in front of them, I glanced sheepishly at Soren and turned to Teave “Right, I should go now.”
“Wait!” He immediately grabbed my hand, panic creeping to his voice.
I raised an eyebrow playfully. “What now?”
“You’re just going to leave like that?” he asked.
He looked down at me with eyes full of longing, like a lost puppy..
I glanced around, realizing Sean had already disappeared too.
Since there was no audience, I could afford to be shameless just this once and threw my arms around him tightly
“Thank you for being so good to me, Soren.” The words came from the bottom of my heart.
He chuckled softly, lowering his tall frame to gently stroke the back of my head. “Silly girl, you’re my girlfriend. It’s my job to treat you well.”
“Okay. I’ll be good to you from now on too,” I promised, smiling warmly at him.
His smile brightened immediately.
Gathering my courage, I tiptoed up and kissed him quickly. “Alright, I really have to go now.”
“Stay safe. If anything happens, just look for Sean or call me directly, no matter what time it is.”
“Got it!” I quickly agreed, knowing how much he was worried about my trip.
As time was running short, I finally forced myself to release him and began walking toward the security check.
“You should hurry back. Don’t worry about me,” I called out, repeatedly waving for him to leave.
Nonetheless, he stood there, stubbornly rooted to the spot, silently watching me go.
By the time I reached security, I glanced back and saw him still standing there, like a lovesick statue.
A sudden wave of sadness hit me, my eyes stinging as though sand had blown into them. My heart felt overwhelmingly reluctant to leave him behind.
Before I knew it, I was running back toward him at full speed.
Soren’s face lit up instantly as he saw me rush toward him, stepping forward with open arms.
I threw myself into his chest, holding him tightly..

He stared at me, his eyes full of disbelief and joy. “Taylor
His expression made me laugh. “Alright, now hurry back home! If you keep this up, I will miss my flight.”
1 jogged backward toward security, waving and urging, “Seriously, get going! Bye!”
This time, I didn’t look back and swiftly passed through security, feeling lighter.
Yet, after clearing it, I glanced back and saw him finally turning away only to glance over his shoulder once
more.
When he caught me looking, he waved again. I responded with a playful air–kiss and walked away, smiling
By the time I boarded, my coworkers had already settled into their seats.
After a quick greeting, I headed straight to first class.
Sean was already seated and greeted me as I approached. He was on the phone, and as I drew closer, I realized Soren was on the other end.
“Understood, Mr. Kenway. Rest assured, I’ll ensure Miss Jones‘ safety. Mm–hmm. Yes, sir… Miss Jones just arrived. Alright. Understood.”
Sean ended the call and looked up at me with a polite smile. “Mr. Kenway is still a little anxious. He’s asked me repeatedly to make sure you’re okay.”
I couldn’t help but chuckle softly, shaking my head. “Don’t mind him. He’s just overthinking things again.”
