“Hahaha! Attagirl.” Jean chuckled as she grabbed her clothes and headed to the shower after entering my room, while I checked my messages
I figured Soren would still be on the plane at that hour, so he wouldn’t be able to message me. Yet, I couldn’t stop myself from checking anyway.
The anxiety, unease, anticipation, and nervousness swirling Inside me felt completely out of character- unbecoming of someone my age.
I was falling deeper and deeper in love with Soren….
After Jean finished showering, she was already drowsy.
I had other tasks to handle that afternoon, so I informed Jean about my schedule, grabbed my laptop, and headed to Cherry’s room so Jean could rest.
The sky had darkened completely by the time Soren called me.
But I couldn’t leave just yet. My show was the next day, and the rehearsal that night was crucial.
“Have you landed already?” I asked excitedly, finding a quiet spot to answer his call.
“Yeah, just got in the car.” Soren must’ve heard the background noise, because he asked, “Are you still working?”
“Yes, we’re still rehearsing. We’ve got a meeting afterward to go over all the details.”
“How much longer do you need?”
“I can’t say for sure, but it’ll be at least two hours.”
“I’ll wait for you at the event hall then.”
His voice sounded like he was holding something back, likely the impatience of wanting to see me.
I became even more excited, but as I glanced at the rehearsal, the hectic energy made me hesitate.
After a moment of thought, I rejected his offer.“‘No, you should go back to the hotel and get some rest. I’m sure you haven’t had much sleep.”
Then, thinking of Jean, I added quickly, “By the way, Jean’s here as well. She said she’s on vacation and plans to come to the show while she’s here. She’s staying in my room tonight.”
Soren sounded surprised. “She’s staying with you?”

“Yeah. She said something’s wrong with her room, and it’ll be fixed tomorrow. She doesn’t want to another hotel tonight.”
I felt a bit helpless explaining the situation, my heart churning as I imagined his surprised tone.
“What’s the matter? Were you planning to stay with me instead?” I teased playfully.
He chuckled. “We’re a couple. Isn’t that only natural?”
“Hmph! In your dreams!”
Cherry walked over and quietly waited when she saw I was on the phone.

Noticing her, I quickly wrapped up my conversation with Seren. “Alright, It’s decided. You’ll head back to the hotel and wait for me while I finish up here as quickly as I can.”
I hung up and turned to Cherry before Soren could even respond. “What do you need?”
The rehearsal ended about an hour later.
Jamie had gathered everyone for a final meeting to make sure everything was in place.
Just before the meeting wrapped up, Cherry leaned in close and whispered in my ear, her hand subtly shielding what she said, “Tay–Tay, look over there.”
My heart skipped a beat as I instinctively looked around, only to spot a familiar figure entering the hall.
Despite the distance between us, my heart fluttered as our eyes locked.
Soren smiled at me and pointed to the chair closest to him, clearly signaling that he intended to sit there.
I smiled back and refocused on the meeting, but my heart had already wandered.
Another half hour passed before the meeting finally ended
As everyone stood, they noticed Soren and began teasing me

see you…”
I was so embarrassed I couldn’t respond directly.
Instead, I pretended to sound calm. “Thank you all for your hard work these past few days. Let’s get some rest tonight, okay? We can all let our hair down after the event is two days.”
Exhausted, my colleagues quickly filed out of the hall.
Even Cherry dashed out after giving me a quick goodbye.
