Vic seemed to put something together and glanced down at the little girl. “Yvonne, were you looking for her just now?
“Mm–hmm!” Yvonne nodded,
So that was it. It wasn’t because her leg felt weird or because he was holding her wrong, the just wanted Widi. That was why
she had been so restless.
A little awkward, sure, but Jeremy didn’t really care.
“What do you need Widi for?” he asked,
“Candles!” Yvonne’s hands flew up as she spoke, her excitement painting a vivid picture. “Beautiful candlest
Vic nodded in understanding. “You want Widi to take you to make candles?”
“Yes, yes!” Yvonne’s little voice was full of determination.
Well, that settled it. Candles were apparently more important than either of them.
Since Widi wasn’t back yet, they decided to go look for her. Someone at the table said she had stepped out about ten minutes ago and hadn’t returned.
Now that they had finished eating, they headed outside with Yvonne in tow.
The hotel was way busier than earlier. A huge camera crew and etiquette staff had arrived, and cameras seemed to be everywhere.
Vic carried Yvonne while Jeremy jogged ahead, scanning the crowd for Widi.
As they rounded a corner, they nearly collided with someone rushing toward them–a familiar face.
Her face lit up when she saw them. “Oh, there you are! I’ve been looking for you everywhere,” she said, stopping in front of them and motioning for them to follow. “You both need to get into makeup and change.
She checked her watch. “It’s 12:50 now. Guests will start arriving at 1:30, so you’ve got about half an hour.”
Muttering something to herself, she turned and gestured again. “Come on, let’s go.”
Jeremy blinked, finally placing her, she must be the head of the etiquette team his uncle had hired.
He pointed at himself. “Wait… we have to wear makeup too?”
As he talked, Jeremy tilted his head, catching his reflection in the mirrored hallway. He ran a hand through his already neat
hair.
“Yeah, perfect. I’m already this good–looking, why bother with makeup? Might as well give the other guys a chance,” he thought.
The woman leading them explained, “Miss Laura doesn’t have any brothers, so you two will be standing in for them at some
events.”
Normally, this would’ve been handled in the morning, but since Vic and Jeremy had only arrived after their classes, they

missed the whole makeup session.
As they followed her, Vic suddenly remembered something. “What about Widi?” he asked. “Did they take her for makeup
too?”
Yvonne had been looking for her earlier, wanting to make candles together.
Now that he thought about it, Widi hadn’t changed outfits at lunch, which meant she probably hadn’t done her makeup yet either.
The woman thought for a second before shaking her head. ‘No, Miss Widi came with Miss Laura. They finished their makeup around eight this morning”
“But she didn’t change clothes Jeremy pointed out.
“She said the dress would get in the way, so she wanted to wait until right before the event to put it on,” the woman explained.
Vic nodded, then glanced down at Yvonne. “She’s probably changing now. We’ll check in on her when we pass by, okay?”
Yvonne nodded eagerly. Thank you.”
When they reached the cloakroom, Vic knocked on the door. A staff member stepped out, and he asked about Widi, only to find out she wasn’t there.
“That’s weird.” Jeremy muttered. “Where did she go?”
Then he noticed the slight disappointment on Yvonne’s face. Leaning down, he grinned. “No worries. Once we’re done with makeup, we’ll go make candles with you.”
That perked her up. “Really? Do you know how to make them?”
Jeremy absolutely did not. He had never even touched candle–making stuff before. But with Yvonne looking up at him, all hopeful and curious, there was no way he could say no.
“Of course,” he said confidently. Tm really good at it.”
Yvonne, completely convinced, turned to Vic next. She didn’t even need to say anything, Vic already knew what was coming.
Vic grinned. “I can do that too–paint plaster dolls, make glass art, work with clay, and even make bracelets.”
Yvonne had no idea what half of that meant, but she still gasped, eyes shining. “Wow! You’re amazing!
Jeremy snorted. “Sounds like someone’s been on a lot of dates,” he muttered. “No wonder you’re never home. Always off with your girlfriend. Meanwhile, I actually come straight home to play with Yvonne after school.”
Vic ignored him. No point in entertaining Jeremy’s jealous rambling.
Inside the dressing room, Jeremy glanced around. “Just us?”
The makeup artists were setting up their tools. One of them nodded. “Yep. Everyone else is done. You guys are the last ones.”
“Okay, then,” Jeremy mumbled. He sat down and let the makeup artist do her thing, keeping quiet for once.
Yvonne, now on her own, wandered around the room, taking in everything.
Eventually, she climbed onto a chair and rested her chin in her hands, watching Jeremy get his makeup done.
There were all kinds of strange things on the table; brushes, palettes, tiny bottles of who–knows–what.

Chapter 339
The makeup artist was dusting something onto Jeremy’s face with a fluffy brush, and Yvonne was mesmerized.
Jeremy caught her staring in the mirror and smirked. “What’s up. Yvonne? Why are you looking at me like that?”
She kicked her legs and asked the question that had been bugging her. “Does it feel itchy?”
Jeremy thought for a second. “A little,” he admitted. Then he grinned. “Wanna try it?”
He turned to the makeup artist. “Hey, could you use that soft brush on her face? She’s curious.”
The makeup artist smiled. “Of course.” She grabbed a fresh brush, hesitated for a second, then dipped it lightly in blush.
Cupping Yvonne’s face gently, she said in a softer voice than before, ‘Close your eyes
Jeremy grinned, tilting his head to get a better look. Across from him, Vic paused mid–makeup, distracted by the scene.
Yvonne squeezed her eyes shut, tiny fists clenched at her sides. Her long, curly lashes twitched with each breath.
The makeup artist swept the brush lightly over her cheeks and smiled. You’ve got such beautiful skin,” she said.
