Chapter 343
The moment Jeremy stepped out of the room, he felt like he could finally breathe again.

the rubbed his nose and muttered, “Man, the smell in there was messing with my nose. I swear I was about to lose my sense of taste”
But luckily, he made it out in one piece. Nothing weird happened, and honestly, just getting some fresh air already made him feel better
Feeling more alive, he turned to Widi and said, “Hey, go change already. Once you’re done, we’re heading out.”
Then he turned to Yvonne. “Let’s go check out the yard. I saw some little animals out there. They’re really cute”
The second they started talking about going outside, Jeremy lit up like a kid on summer break, forgetting how bored he was five minutes ago
Widi paused, pressing her lips together. “I’m not going. You guys go ahead.”
She was going to wear a long dress, and the shoes that came with it weren’t exactly outdoor friendly,
And maybe it was because of the candle–making earlier, but she had started to feel kind of… included. Like she was part of their little group
Now that she couldn’t tag along, she felt kind of bad about it. She opened her mouth to explain. But Jeremy beat her to it.
“Cool, then we’re out,” he said quickly, like he had been waiting for permission to ditch her
He didn’t even look back before walking over to Yvonne with a big, excited grin. “Let’s gooo.”
Widi blinked. ‘Wow. Okay, scratch that nice thought, Jeremy is officially back to being annoying!
Yvonne turned and waved sweetly. She was heading off to play with Jeremy, but Widi wasn’t coming, so she chirped out, “Bye–bye!”
Widi raised her hand and gave a stiff little wave like one of those waving cat toys. “Bye…”
They were already a good distance away, Jeremy was carrying Yvonne, while Widi stood frozen in place, still processing how fast that all went down.
Then suddenly, Jeremy turned around and looked back.
Her heart jumped a little at the unexpected glance, but she quickly coughed and looked away, pretending like she hadn’t been watching at all.
Honestly, she had already considered it. The shoes weren’t that big of a deal, easy to slip on, didn’t really need to change the whole outfit.
She could wait until someone came to get her, throw them on, and be out the door in five minutes.
So technically, yeah, she could go see the little animals too. She actually really liked puppies and kittens. With that thought, she took a few steps forward.
Theh Jeremy, who had been walking ahead, suddenly turned and called back, “Oh, right, Widi, when you get to the lobby, keep an eye out for us, will you? If my dad comes looking, just give Vic a call.”
Basically, she was the designated lookout now. All so he could sneak off guilt–free and enjoy his little outing with Yvonne.

Chapter 343
Widi just stared at him, completely caught off guard.
“Yes or no, Widi? Why are you so quiet?” he asked.
Of course, Just being around this guy made her feel like she was losing brain cells. She clenched her jaw and forced out,
“Yes.”
“Nice, thanks!” he said, already turning away without waiting for anything else.
She stood frozen until he was completely out of sight. Then she stomped off, her face dark with irritation.
Jeremy was hopeless. Completely clueless when it came to girls. There was no way he would ever get a girlfriend.
And if by some miracle he did, it wouldn’t last. No way. She would bail the second she realized how dumb he was.
Widi made a silent vow, if Jeremy ever got a girlfriend, she was gonna keep a very close eye on that poor girl.
Meanwhile, Jeremy, already halfway across the courtyard, suddenly paused and looked back.
He had that weird feeling, like someone was seriously dragging his name through the mud behind his back.
But whatever. Yvonne was excited, and that was more important.

.Next to the garden, there was a glass room filled with cats. Super chill spot. Just watching them lounging around was enough
to lift their mood.
Yvonne lit up the second she saw them, and Jeremy couldn’t help but grin. “Told you this was way better than sitting around making candles.”
And as he watched the chunky cats roll around lazily, he thought of Yvonne’s fat fox.
That spoiled little animal knew how to live, always well–fed, looking sleek, its fur softer than half the pillows in Jeremy’s house.
That fox wasn’t just chubby, it had brains, too. It knew exactly who the boss was at home and acted sweet only to Yvonne. Everyone else? Not a chance. No touching allowed.
Jeremy found it super annoying. He had been quietly waiting for the day that smug little thing finally lost its top–dog status. He was gonna ship it off here to earn its keep.
Let it work, support itself, maybe even earn a bit of pocket money for Yvonne. He could already picture it: the transformation from pampered, freeloading fox to a responsible, working–class citizen. Beautiful.
While he was still lost in his little revenge fantasy, Vic had already taken Yvonne inside the glass room.
This mini cat café tucked inside the hotel was like paradise for anyone who loved cats. The cats were used to attention, and not at all shy.
