He thought, ‘Honestly, how did Zion even exist in the same gene pool? Was it possible Janie had taken all the brains and charisma in the womb, leaving him with… well, whatever this was!”
Janie stayed composed. After a moment, she spoke. “It’s… listenable.”

“Listenable? That’s all you have to say?” Zion asked, letting out a laugh that sounded more bitter than amused.
Janie gave him a bored look. To her, Xena’s performance was polished but mechanical, nothing special. She’d seen real masters, true prodigies, and this wasn’t it. Why didn’t Zion satisfied.
Jackson interjected with a sharp tone. “What else do you want? She already said it was decent. Are you expecting a standing ovation?”
To him, Xena’s playing lacked soul, and Janie’s response was far kinder than Zion deserved.
Xena quickly stepped in, tugging at Zion’s sleeve. “It’s okay, Zion. I’ll work harder. I know I’m not good enough yet”

Zion shook his head, refusing to let it go. “What are you talking about? You’ve been practicing your whole life. You’re incredible. There’s nothing wrong with your performance!”
Janie still didn’t bother to look at him.
Honestly, she was over it. Sharing a womb with Zion was had enough, but moments like this made her question whether they were even biologically related.
Suppressing a sigh, Janie responded with a faux–sweet smile, “Did I say she wasn’t good? I said it was listenable, didn’t I?”
Her smile turned sharper, “If that’s not enough for you, why don’t you just write me a script? I’ll read it word for word. exactly how you want. Would that make you feel better?”
Zion froze, completely thrown off by her response.
Across the room. David couldn’t hold it in any longer. He let out a loud laugh, breaking the tension.
Molly, who’d been holding back her own laughter, finally lost it and chuckled softly.
Still grinning. David said, “You know, Zion, she’s got a point. Maybe you should write her a script. At least then, the rest of us wouldn’t feel so awkward watching you flounder.”
Janie’s comebacks were Iconic. He’d kill to have her sharp tongue for a day.

Ryan knew where this was heading, and it wasn’t
worse, and it was clear that Janie and Jacke going to end well. Zion and Xena’s constant needling only made things
weren’t here to play along.
