I smiled reassuringly. “Don’t worry. He didn’t. He tied me up so tightly that it actually made it harder for him to assault me. Then Soren showed up just in time.”

She studied me again, frowning. “No, no! Your cheek is swollen, too! Your injuries are so obvious, and you’re telling me you’re fine? Girl, you need to put something on these wounds, okay? They could leave some nasty scars!
Sean appeared just in time with a medical kit for Soren, who said, “Miss Valentine, please rest. I’ll take care of her.
As worried as she was, Jean knew she should probably leave us alone. “Alright then. Tay, call me if you need anything, please.”

“Sean, please escort her to her room,” Soren ordered.
The crowd left us alone in the bedroom.
Soren’s frown deepened now that no one was watching. My experience clearly tormented him.
Setting the kit aside, he glanced at my torn dress and gently suggested, “How about a shower and a fresh set of clothes before we address your injuries, hmm?”
I looked down at my ruined dress, noticing the red spots from the fight. Just the thought that Edward had touched me with his disgusting hands made me feel nauseous.
A shower would be a relief. I needed to wash away his stench and marks. I started toward the bathroom. “Okay. I’ll do that.”
He followed. “Let me help.”
“H–Help?!” I stammered, turning to him with my cheeks turning bright red.
How was he going to help me shower? I would be… naked..
“The injuries on your wrist will definitely hurt when they come into contact with water. If I help, I can avoid that as much as possible,” he said matter–of–factly, his eyes firm and calm.
He showed no sign of the thoughts I suspected he might be having.
I gulped. I–really had no excuse to reject him, did I? If I did, it might make it seem like I thought of him as just another pervert…
“I–I guess… T–That w–would be n–nice,” I stammered.
How could I refuse? My mind was already imagining things adults do!
“I’m glad you agree.” His expression softened.

He gazed into my eyes for a moment before realizing his help might involve some rather… intimate actions.
He cleared his throat and suddenly added, “I’m just going to help you shower.”
I couldn’t meet his eyes anymore. “I know that!”
He started running the bath with hot water, then began to remove my clothes.
We had cuddled and kissed last night while sharing a bed, but that was in the dark! Having him look at me while I was naked–with the lights on–was a whole new level of intimacy.
“Um, if you ever feel uncomfortable, just let me know,” he said gently.
His eyes were fixed on me, very deliberately avoiding looking anywhere below my neck, and his face was bright red.

I decided it would be better to just get it over with quickly rather than dragging out the slow, agonizing embarrassment.
He smiled and quickened his pace. When my dress finally fell to the floor, I looked away from his face. Lcould still tell his breathing had become considerably faster and shallower.
