Chapter 408
It all happened so suddenly, yet it felt right.
I knew women were traditionally expected to be less proactive, but I wasn’t going to let this moment slip away.
What if something happened once we returned home? What if we couldn’t be together?
I just wanted to let go for once and ride high on these emotions. I wanted to shed my restraint for once.
Soren fought to hold himself back, his face flushed with the effort. His eyes betrayed his struggle. “Tay, but your injuries-”
“They aren’t stopping me,” I insisted.
I wasn’t going to use my hands, anyway.
I leaned in for another kiss, but he stopped me again. “Tay, are you sure you want to do this? This could be your trauma from earlier talking. That would make your consent.. muddled-”
I breathed, my arms clinging to his shoulders. “I know what I’m doing, Soren. I am well aware.”
I knew Soren would hesitate. He was too much of a gentleman to take advantage of me, even if I sent mixed signals. But being rejected by your boyfriend after working up the courage to take that step hurt more than any pain that came from your first time.
Fortunately, Soren changed his mind after receiving the confirmation he needed. He smiled, his eyes sparkling like a supernova.
“Tay… I…” he stammered.
Before I knew it, he kissed me deeply.
Soren might have acted like a gentleman in daily life, but I quickly learned he could be a beast when he wanted to. Thankfully, he still had enough control to avoid hurting my wrists.
When it was over, I felt bashful. I closed my eyes and decided to pretend I was asleep.
I felt some discomfort, but it was still bearable.
Soren, however, needed to make sure I was okay. Noticing I hadn’t moved, he asked, “Tay?”
I kept my eyes closed, feigning sleep.
He gently shook my shoulder. “Taylor?”
I couldn’t ignore him. I heard the anxiety in his voice. “I heard you the first time…”
“Are you alright?”
“I’m fine.”
“You didn’t move! I thought you…” He sighed and kissed my hair repeatedly.
I didn’t say anything. I just wished he’d go to sleep already!
Unfortunately, he was still feeling restless. He pressed himself against me, spooning me.
The area where our skin touched felt warm and sticky. I shifted slightly.

Chapter 408
“What’s wrong?” he asked..
“I think I want to go to the bathroom,” I replied.
He quickly rolled out of bed and put on his bathrobe. “Let me carry you.”
“No need!” I responded, suddenly feeling energetic. “I can go on my own. You should go back to sleep!”
Soren circled the bed and scooped me up in his arms, bridal style. I couldn’t even bring myself to look him in the
eye.
He smiled in satisfaction. “Did I accidentally hurt you? Sorry, I didn’t have any experience before. I’ll practice more often.”
My cheeks burned. Practice more often?!
I wished I could bury my face in his robe. Fortunately, he let the conversation end there.
