Chapter 410
Soren was watching the show when she asked him, so he didn’t understand her at first.
I gritted my teeth. “Jean!”
She leaned closer and examined my neck, her eyes narrowing. “Whoa, you were really going wild, weren’t you? I can see a hickey on your collarbone!”
Soren finally caught on. His lips curled into a sheepish smile while Jean laughed, her body shaking with amusement. She was clearly enjoying that she had nailed it.
Much later, I asked Jean how she’d figured it out.
She sneered. “It was the look you were wearing. It was like a little vixen who’d discovered her power. Besides, the way you two are together is so different. Every time he looks at you, I can tell he is reminiscing about some special moments.”
During the noon break, Soren received a call.
Edward had been repatriated to Metropolis, and news of the investigations into the Kennedys had just broken.
Almost immediately, my phone began buzzing with calls from unknown numbers. After accidentally answering two, I realized they were from reporters probing whether I was the whistleblower.
The storm was brewing, and I wasn’t even home yet.
Not that I cared to engage. At that moment, all I wanted was to savor the triumph of my career. I had just taken photos with renowned international fashion designers–a dream come true.
Life had tried to knock me down, but I had not only survived; I emerged stronger. My career was soaring, and a radiant future lay ahead.
As I stepped off the stage, Soren opened his arms and pulled me into a tight embrace, right in front of the media and journalists.
Jean captured the moment, dubbing it “the instant Taylor’s love and career blossomed in glorious harmony.”
I couldn’t have agreed more.
As the head of my company, I indulged a little more than usual at the party.
By the time Soren was accompanying me back to the hotel, Drunken Taylor had made her grand return.
Nestled in his arms, I traced his cheek with my finger and flashed a mischievous smile. “Lord Soren, I demand your presence tonight.”
He stiffened, casting a quick glance at his bodyguard in the passenger seat.
“You’ve had too much to drink,” he said gently. “You should rest.”
“No, I’m not sleepy.” I chuckled, sighing. “Today is the best day of my life… but it could be even better. Sleeping this soon? Waste–ful.”

“Tomorrow is not the same as today. You don’t really understand that, do you?” I pressed my finger against his lips. “Stop defying me like a bad boy. Say one more word, and I’ll spank you.”
His eyes darkened, and he swallowed hard.
I giggled.
“Your lips are so soft,” I said, teasing. “Have I ever told you that?”
“Yes, you did,” he croaked. “You were drunk, too.”
“Did I?”
Soren’s Adam’s apple bobbed up and down. He patted my shoulder and back. “Please just sleep. I’ll carry you to our hotel room once we arrive, okay?”
“I’m not sleepy!”
“Yes, you are.” He stared at me, his gaze intense. “You’re veeeery tired now. You want to sleep.”
I burped a little. “Hmm… I think you’re right…‘
