“Of course not!” I cried, suddenly sobering.
I loved being with him, but I didn’t want to get pregnant now.
There were too many things happening, and I wasn’t even sure if our love could survive. If we had a child right now, everything would spiral out of control!
I shoved him away and wrapped myself in a comforter. “It’s getting late. Let’s just go to bed. We have things to do tomorrow!”
He looked stunned, then suddenly laughed.
“I can’t believe you would…” He trailed off, but I knew what he meant. I was the one to seduce him, and now I was the one stopping him.
I actually felt bad seeing him already hard. Now, he had to suffer through it without release? That was cruel of me.
“I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to do this!” I apologized, hiding under the comforter with only my eyes visible.
He lay next to me, grinning through clenched teeth. “I’ll buy them when morning comes! In bulk!”
“Are you insane?!”
“I’m very sane!!!
Buying condoms in bulk? What would the salesgirl think?
I chuckled to myself as he hugged me from behind and kissed my ear. “Go to sleep. We’ve been busy these past few nights, after all…”
I closed my eyes.
I never got to ask him why he had to rush back to the Kenway residence. If he hadn’t mentioned it to me, then I assumed it wasn’t anything good for me.
In that case, I’d rather not ask. I just wanted to enjoy the present. Maybe I was burying my head in the sand, maybe I was running from reality.
But that was all I could do.
The downside to staying up late was that I slept like a rock, even after the sun came up. It was no wonder Soren liked giving me all kinds of nicknames.
By the time I woke up, he was gone.
I felt the spot where he had lain but couldn’t find any warmth. I rose, put on a robe, and looked for him.
I found him in the gym, sweating and glistening from his efforts. He smiled as he finished his workout and wiped his sweat with a towel.
“Good morning. I thought you’d sleep a little longer,” he said.
“The sun’s up, man. Time to get moving!”
My phone rang. I glanced at it and immediately knew trouble had found me.

It was Cameron. She had stopped pestering me for about ten days after I had Harry hospitalized, just enough time to get through fashion week. But now, she was back.
“Hello.”
“Taylor, the police took your father for questioning. He had just gotten his condition stabilized! He still needs treatment!” Cameron babbled in a panic. “Are they going to lock him up again?“.
I remained unfazed. Sarah had already told me what happened. “You should ask the police or a lawyer, not me. I don’t even know what he did this time!”
Soren came over and kissed my cheek. “I’m going for a shower. Breakfast is ready downstairs.”
“I heard the Kennedys‘ latest crisis is your new boyfriend’s doing, Taylor! He’s doing this for you, isn’t he? He can do whatever he wants to the Kennedys, but why does your father have to be involved again? He’s your father! How can you treat your own dad like this?!” Cameron shrieked.
