Sophia didn’t seem to expect that I would come.
As soon as Alexander stood by the hospital bed, she eagerly jumped into his arms for a bear hug.
Almost reflexively, Alexander caught her.
The worry and concern in his eyes were unmistakably genuine.
Then Sophia planted a loud kiss on his cheek.
While Alexander was stuck between holding her tight and not knowing whether to let go or turn to look at me, she finally noticed me standing
at the door.
I had just put away my phone after sending the video I had just recorded of the two of them hugging and kissing to Sophia’s father.
I also packaged up the chat records of Sophia threatening me before the wedding and the videos she sent me, and sent them all to her father.
Sophia’s family was well–educated and had good values.
From the first time I met them, I knew they were good people who had raised a bad apple.
Sophia’s parents hadn’t shown up at the wedding, which also proved that they didn’t know about this.
So how could I not let them see how their good daughter had humiliated someone else?
Sophia was displeased: “What is she doing here? What if it affects my mood for the surgery…”
I put the carnations I had brought into the vase by the bed: “I came to wish you a successful surgery and a speedy recovery.”
Sophia was at a loss for words.
I smoothed her hair and said softly: “This central air conditioner, please take it away with you. Trash belongs in the recycling bin, as it should
be.”
With that, I left.
Mainly because I was afraid she might try to frame me for something

I had just stepped out of the hospital room when I heard the sound of a vase shattering on the floor behind me.
Followed by Sophia’s soft crying and Alexander’s comforting voice.
The door opened and closed, and Alexander came out too.
He frowned at me: “What did you say to her? You know she’s a patient…”
“Yes, she’s a patient, I sneered. “If you want to worship Buddha, go ahead. I’m not playing along.”
Alexander said: “Sophia’s condition is still unstable. I need to stay at the hospital overnight.”
I peeked through the window and saw Sophia glaring at me fiercely.
She looked lively and energetic, not at all unstable.
I nodded slightly: “You don’t need to tell me.”
After all, we no longer had any relationship.
Alexander held my hand: “You understand, right? After all, it’s a life at stake. She loves me the most. With such a high–risk surgery, how could I let her leave with regrets…”
I hadn’t had the chance to tell him that we had already broken up, and even if he was going to sleep with her tonight, it was none of my
business.
Sophia started calling out again from inside.
Alexander rushed back into the room to tend to her.
