He checked the time–eight minutes in, and still no signs of distress.

Back in the control room, nearly 15 minutes had passed. Bennett finally flipped the switch, deactivating the machine. He leaned into the mic and said gently. “Alright, Noelle. You can take the helmet off”

She must be reaching her limit.” “No, I’m not” Noelle chimed in cheerfully as she placed the helmet back on its stand. She tilted her chin up proudly, shot Liam a smug look, and added. Im totally fine. This was nothing.”
To her, the currents used in this test were child’s play–nothing compared to the intensity of the brain experiments at her old lab. Back then, she’d lasted forty minutes under far more brutal conditions.
Through the glass, Bennett watched Noelle’s confidence–filled strut and couldn’t help but smile.

Meanwhile, everyone else who had taken this test had to be carried out on stretchers,
Bennett left the comms room too, heading to meet Noelle.

“Bennett, your sister is unbelievable. She’s the perfect candidate for this entire project!”
“Can she come back tomorrow! We’d love to run a full–body scan.
“She didn’t even hit her limit! I bet she could last thirty minutes easy. Should we schedule another t
trial tomorrow?”
