Chapter 11
He thought, ‘Camila talking back to my mother wasn’t right to begin with. Telling her to apologize is reasonable. It’s not like I’m backing down to her or anything
In their relationship, Camila had always been the one to bend, the one to reach out and make peace after every fight. This was the first time Noel had ever taken the initiative to message her.
But just as he was about to send a message, he noticed her profile picture was gone. Her last seen” and “about” information had become invisible

It hit him then. She had blocked him. Noel’s expression darkened immediately.
“Mr. Anderson, are you alright? Someone piss you off?” Tyrell, his assistant, noticed the grim look on Noel’s face and asked instinctively.
Noel’s expression stayed cold as he held out his hand to Tyrell “Give me your phone”
Tyrell blinked, confused, but passed it over without question.
Noel opened WhatsApp, pulled up Camila’s contact, and shot her a single question mark
A moment later, she replied with the exact same thing: []
That made his expression even worse. He fired off a new message: [Camila, did you seriously block me!]
Then he sent another text. [You’ve really got a death wish
But before he could hit send, he realized Camila had blocked Tyrell’s account too.
Tyrell peeked over curiously and said under his breath, “Mr. Anderson, it looks like Ms. Baterman figured out you were using my account. She blocked me too.”
Noel paused for a second, gave Tyrell a warning glance, then took his phone and called Camila. It rang twice before she picked up
Her voice came through, melodious and soft. Tyrell What’s up
Noel spoke through clenched teeth, his tone low and biting, “Camila”
Camila, who was currently standing in line at the Tradisonal Medicine Center, furrowed her brows the moment she heard his voice, She instinctively checked the number–sure enough, it was Tyrell’s. Her tone turned cold as she asked flatly. “Mr. Anderson, what do you want?
The way she said “Mr. Anderson“, so distant and indifferent, grated on Noel’s can. He grumbled, “Camila, you’ve got some nerve. You actually talked back to my mother. Are you trying to—”
“So, Mr. Anderson, you went to all this trouble to call me just to scold me?” Camila didn’t even let him finish. She glanced at the long line ahead, already annoyed, and cut him off with a chill in her voice.
Notiring the iciness in her tone, Noel instinctively defended himself, saying, “No, I just wanted you to apologize to my n
mom
“Apologize?” Camila let out a cold laugh. She’d pretty much guessed the reason for his call, but hearing it from his mouth still pissed her off She couldn’t believe how shameless he could get.
This wasn’t new. Every single time Sofia had a problem with her, she’d go whining to Noel spinning stories and twisting facts. And every single time, it ended the same way–Camila would always be the one who had to swallow her pride and apologize.
It didn’t matter whether she was actually at fault. Noel never asked. All he ever cared about was the outcome–she apologized, and that was that. She’d had enough of that crap a long time ago,
Now that she didn’t have to put up with it anymore, Camila’s voice turned sharp as a knife. “Mr. Anderson, you’ve got some nerve. Do you even hear yourself?
“You really think you’re in any position to demand anything from me? News flash–we’re done. You don’t get to tell me what to do.
Noel was speechless. Her words hit hard, and it took him a second to even register what she’d said. But when he finally did, the humiliation boiled
over into anger.
Just as he opened his mouth to lash out, Camila’s voice came again, brisk and unapologetic. “If that’s all, Mr. Anderson, I’m hanging up.”
“Wait” Noel said quickly.
