Chapter 14
Camila had assumed Johnathon would explain the misunderstanding. But to her surprise, he didn’t say a word. Instead, he went straight to the point. “She plays the violin. Her hands are everything. Please take a look
“Okay. No problem,” Andreas replied quickly. Then came the examination, and soon enough, he gave his conclusion. “You’ve strained a tendon. Not too serious, but it’ll act up on cold or rainy days.”
it
Camila nodded. “Exactly. That’s what happens. She looked at Andreas nervously. “Can it be healed?”
“Absolutely. It’s just a bit of a process. Not exactly a walk in the park, Andreas replied. “You could’ve gone the surgery suggested.
ry route like the regular doctors
“But there’s another option–acupuncture. I’ll take time and some patience. What we’ll do is repair the damaged tendon little by linte.”
Camila asked, “I have a concert tour next month. Will it be healed by then?”
Andreas smiled with quiet confidence, “I can’t speak for anyone else. But me! I can get you there.”
Camila’s eyes lit up with joy. That’s amazing. Thank you so much. Dr. Quiler
She glanced instinctively at Johnathon. He gave her a warm smile in retur
in return, saying, “You’re going to be just fine.”
Andreas gave the two of them a meaningful look. “I’ll go get things ready. We’ll do the first treatment later. You two may
ay wait outside for a bit.”
Camila and Johnathon stepped out of the office and took a seat on the bench in the hallway.
She turned to him, full of genuine gratitude, her eyes glistening. “Mr. Hemming, seriously, thank you. I had no idea what I was going to do before you showed up.”
Johnathon dropped his gaze, masking the emotion in his eyes. Tim glad I could help”
Camila thought, Johnathon really is such a kind and thoughtful doctor!
Andreas soon got everything ready. A whole row of acupuncture needles lay beside him, long and thin, densely packed. Just looking at them triggered Camila’s instinctive fear.
Andreas noticed the flicker of fear in her eyes and smiled gently, “If it makes you nervous, just cl

your eyes. It might sting a line”
Her lips were pale, but her tone was steady and firm as she stared at the needles. T’m okay. Please go ahead”
Andreas glanced at Johnathon, who was standing quietly to the side, and said with a chuckle, “Your girlfriend’s a tough one.”
He thought. Girls are usually scared of needles. But this one! She’s dearly terrified and still keeping it together. She’s fierce!
Johnathon looked at her, taking in the paleness of her face. Something unreadable flickered behind his eyes. Then his fingers curled slightly at his side, and after a pause, he said softly, “Pardon me. He reached out and gently covered Calpila’s eyes with his hand.
Camila froze, not fully grasping what had just happened. Then came the sharp sting of the first needle, snapping her straight back to reality. Her palms began to sweat.
The first few needles weren’t too bad. But as more were inserted, the pain sharpened, and her mind went completely blank. Fear, anxiety, discomfort, and dread flooded her all at once, crashing over her like a wave.
Then, right next to her ear, came a soothing voice. “If it hunts, just bite me,”
Johnathon
offered.
Meanwhile, Noel hadn’t been able to focus since Camila hung up on him. The meeting dragged on endlessly, and his mind wasn’t in the room for even a second as he kept checking the time.
As soon as the meeting ended, he was the first to walk out Tyrell, already waiting in the office, stepped forward with an update from HR. “Mr. Anderson, HR hasn’t received any resignation letter from Ms. Bateman”
Noel paused. “They haven’t?”
Tyrell nodded. “Comed.”
