Chapter 6 The Luxurious Gift
“Wow, our Eliza is really popular. It’s not even Valentine’s Day, but she’s already received so many flowers and gifts.”
“Unlike someone.”
“Tanned and unruly, and crazy!”
After getting up the next morning, Miah could hear the Sampsons having a discussion while eating breakfast at the dining table as soon as she went downstairs.
Once Grandma Sampson had finished speaking, she cradled the emerald bracelet that Eliza had given her to her chest and glared at Miah. “Getting up so late—don’t you know any etiquette!”
“See this bracelet? It was given to Eliza by the second son of the Bass family!”
Miah smiled wrily. “Edward Bass is a playboy—who knows how many girls he has impregnated. Only a b*tch like Eliza would make a big deal out of such a cheap trinket like that bracelet.”
Dylan immediately threw his tableware at Miah as soon as she finished speaking. “You d*mn thing, what did you just say so early in the morning! Can’t you let your grandmother have breakfast in peace?”
Miah dodged but didn’t retaliate, simply replying while sneering, “Am I wrong though? But who is the one who isn’t letting someone have breakfast in peace this morning?”
Stretching out a hand, she pointed to her original position at the table.
A dog bowl could be seen at her seat.
And Eliza’s Border Collie pet dog was currently sitting on Miah’s seat and eating from the bowl.
Meanwhile, Miah’s breakfast had been placed on top of the dog kennel that was by the entrance.
Eliza held back her laughter and said unctuously, “Oh I’m sorry, Miah. I thought you didn’t want to eat with us as you flipped the table over last night.
“Snowy insisted on eating in your seat today, so I placed your breakfast at his kennel since it gets such nice sunlight over there.”
“I’ll fix it for you right now if you don’t like it!”
Eliza was certain that her father and grandmother had completely given up on Miah after the past few days, hence why she was so brazenly humiliating Miah so openly.
However, before her hand had even touched the dog bowl, Miah had flipped it over with a swipe of her hand.
Afraid of what Miah would do next, Eliza started panicking. “What are you going to do, Miah!”
Miah chucked the poached egg and chicken breast on Eliza’s plate into the dog bowl with one hand while simultaneously grabbing a handful of dog kibble with the other and shoving it directly into Eliza’s mouth.
“Dogs are smarter than humans, so why should they eat kibble?
“You, on the other hand, can’t even distinguish between human food and dog food, so here’s some kibble as brain food!”
“What are you… Ugh! Miah Sampson! Have you lost your mind? Help! Help!” Eliza tried to speak as she choked.
She wasn’t as strong as Miah and was so frightened that she had started to cry as she tried her best to spit the kibble out, but her mouth continued to be stuffed with it.
She ended up swallowing some.
“You vile creature!” Grandma Sampson exclaimed, looking as though she was about to have a heart attack.
Holly had turned pale from fright, shrieking as she pulled on Dylan. “Stop! Quick, someone come stop her!” he stood up and roared.
Miah stopped on her own before the servants could come over.
She thought to herself that it would be a waste of dog food if she fed too much of it to Eliza. “How is it? Is Snowy’s meal delicious?” she asked, pinching Eliza’s chin.
Eliza ran over to Dylan and hid behind him once she had been released, tears streaming down her face. “Dad, Miah bullied me!”
“You are demented, Miah Sampson!”
Dylan’s body shook from rage.
“Your sister is currently the most sought-after young lady in all of Pattul capital! There are countless young men pursuing her!”
“H-How dare you treat her this way? Just wait and see, I-I’m going to beat you to death!”
Miah insisted on receiving 10 million dollars before she would be willing to proceed with the marriage. Therefore, Dylan once again placed his idea of pulling in more investment through marriage on Eliza.
The only difference being Miah was forced into the idea, and she had to marry Bobby Gallagher whether or not she wanted to. He was selling Miah off.
As for Eliza, she could take the 10 million, make herself up, and then choose a man she liked the most. He would be marrying her off.
Whether it was selling or marrying off their daughters, The Sampsons are selfish regardless as they didn’t view them as individual human beings but as bargaining chips.
Hence, the influx of gifts for Eliza when it wasn’t even Valentine’s Day had caused the Sampson family’s expectations of her to grow even higher.
And the higher their expectations of her were, the better her treatment would be. Miah, on the other hand, absolutely must be sent to h*ll.
Dylan raised a heavy broomstick in the air and was about to swing it down on Miah’s head.
However, it was at this moment that a loud horn sounded from outside the door.
A servant ran in in a frantic state. “Sir, Madam, bad news! It’s a car from the Gallagher family! The Gallaghers’ men are coming!”
Hearing the words “Gallagher family”, Dylan almost lost his grip on the broomstick.
Grandma Sampson started hyperventilating. “We’re done for…”
“This must be about the matter of the broken engagement; the Gallaghers have come to get even!”
“What should we do? We won’t be able to stay in Pattul if we’ve offended them!”
The members of the Sampson family were all terror-stricken. “This is all your fault! Bobby Gallagher wouldn’t have come looking for us if it weren’t for you!” Eliza yelled, glaring at Miah.
Grandma Sampson gritted her teeth. “We’ll hand over this wicked girl to them later and let them do with her as they wish! She’ll take sole responsibility for what she has done; we mustn’t be dragged down with her…”
The Sampsons were extremely terrified of Bobby Gallagher.
The Gallagher family; just the name alone was enough to make anyone in Pattul jump out of their skin. With their ancestors already a part of the ranks of the elites by the 14th century, they had been wealthy for many generations and were also very cunning.
Any member of the Gallagher family could easily wipe the Sampsons off the face of the earth without breaking a sweat.
Right now, even Dylan’s face was pale, and his hand, which was holding a teacup, was shaking. Grandma Sampson looked as though she was sitting on a pin cushion.
Miah’s mouth curled into a cold smile as she looked at the family before her.
In her previous life, Bobby had indeed come because she had rejected his proposal and because she had been involved in a scandal with Jason in the hospital.
However, in this life, Bobby should have an understanding of Miah’s intentions after their meeting at Eastside University.
Therefore, it was impossible that he had come today to put her in trouble.
“Bobby Gallagher… I-Is he coming personally?” Dylan’s voice was starting to tremble.
“I don’t know, there are at least 20 cars at the entrance!” the servant replied.
“We’re doomed!”
Plopping onto the sofa, Grandma Sampson continued, “At least 20 cars!” She then collapsed into the sofa as though she had lost consciousness. With so many of their men here, the Sampson family were surely doomed today.
“What should we do now, Mom?” Eliza asked, looking at Holly.
Miah was the only one who calmly walked out of the gate. A man in a tailored grey suit exited a grey BMW that lead the fleet of cars.
The man wore glasses and had a gentle face. Miah recognized him as Emilio Merritt, Bobby’s right-hand man.
Facing Miah, Emilio bowed respectfully to her.
Then, his next sentence shocked the whole Sampson family.
“Good day to you, Ms. Sampson! I’m here under orders from Mr. Gallagher to deliver these cars as a proposal gift to you!”
A proposal gift!
Even Miah herself was slightly taken aback when she heard this.
As for the members of the Sampson family who were standing behind her, they were utterly dumbfounded.
“What? All these are a proposal gift?” Eliza’s jaw dropped.
