Chapter 4
I ignored her rant like the barking of a stray dog, giving it no more thought than a passing nuisance. Calmly, I reached for a glass of champagne, swirling it gently before taking a slow sip.
Maybe my composure was too convincing. The room slowly quieted down, and the faces that had once been full of mocking grins now wavered with uncertainty. Doubt flashed in their eyes, as if they feared I was hiding some trick up my sleeve. In this vast banquet hall, no one dared make a move to throw me out.
But Ethan? He wasn’t having it. He shot me a glare, his eyes filled with irritation, glancing nervously at the door.

Then, his eyes suddenly lit up.
“Dad, Mom, you’re finally here!” he called, his voice thick with smug satisfaction.
He turned to his father, proudly draping his arm over his shoulder. “Elena, didn’t you say no one here has the authority to kick you out? Well, my dad sure does, don’t you think?”
He wasn’t wrong. Though I was the Beta of the Silverfang Pack at the moment, the Alpha–his father–was the one who held the real power. He alone had the authority to strip me of my position.
“Dad, I know Added to the library ering you up, and I know you like her, but being around her is honestly unbearable. The only woman I really care about is Olivia, and she’s carrying my pup. Please, just let us be

together.”
“Alpha and Luna, good evening,” Olivia chimed in sweetly, putting aside her usual arrogance to greet them with graceful politeness.
The Alpha had never liked her much, especially after she’d once rejected Ethan. But now, seeing her pregnant, he clenched his teeth, holding back his annoyance. He didn’t say a word.
Luna hesitated for a moment, then asked softly, “Are you really carrying Ethan’s pup? How are you feeling?”
“I’ve been fine… until Elena pissed me off,” Olivia pouted, putting on a show of weakness as if she were the picture of a spoiled, helpless girl. “Now my stomach hurts a little.”

someone to serve you, she’s your girl. But once I’m with Olivia, you’ll see that she’s the right one.”
He wasn’t wrong. After all, I wasn’t one to bow down easily, especially to such shameless demands.
I let out a cold, almost mocking laugh, a hint of disdain bubbling in my chest.
“Olivia, enjoy it while it lasts,” I said,
raising an eyebrow, my voice dripping with indifference.
Just as Ethan’s parents were about to speak, I raised a hand to stop them. I turned my gaze toward them, my tone calm but unmistakable. “Are you really willing to watch me spend the rest of my life with someone this calculating?”

Ethan clearly hadn’t expected my reaction. He froze for a moment, then snapped impatiently, “You used to hang on their every word. Now, you’re backing out? Unbelievable!”
I stood firm, my reply as cold as ice. “Mom, Dad, can you really stand to see me stuck with her? Please, give me a way out.”
Olivia immediately cut in, her voice sweet, but as sharp as a blade. “Uncle, Aunt, I’m sure you don’t want the Alpha Heir’s pup to be born without a proper claim, right? Once Ethan and Elena sever their mate bond and divorce, I’ll marry him right away!”
Alpha and Luna exchanged a glance, one filled with complexity, then fell silent for a moment before sighing deeply.
“It’s a shame. Some things can’t be forced.
