Chapter 5
Ethan barely acknowledged my words, his focus entirely on the papers in front of him. He was scrutinizing them carefully, making sure my signature was perfect and that I hadn’t pulled any tricks. When he finally seemed satisfied, a smug grin spread across his face, and he let out a sigh of relief.
“Olivia, I’m finally free. Now I can marry you,” he said, his voice dripping with satisfaction.
Olivia’s excitement matched his, practically radiating off her. “Ethan, I’ve been waiting for this day for so long! But first, we need to deal with that pesky little problem. She’s still here, threatening us.”
With that, Olivia clung tightly to Ethan’s arm, her eyes never leaving me, her gaze dripping

with mockery.
“If you’ve got something to say, now’s your chance. I’m dying to see how you’ll twist your lies into something believable.”
Ethan snorted dismissively. “Elena, you’ve got thirty seconds. If you’re still trying to scare us, we’ll throw you out. Today’s celebration is for the beta of the Silverfang Pack–Olivia, as you know. This place has nothing to do with you anymore.”
The guests stared at me as if I were some kind of joke, their faces filled with amusement.
But instead of responding right away, I turned and locked eyes with the two people I had once called my parents.
But now? I could never call them that again.

His years of dominance were not to be taken lightly. With just those two words, the tension in the room dissipated, and everyone stood frozen, eyes locked on him.
“Eight years ago, Ethan underwent a minor procedure. That’s when we discovered he wasn’t our biological pup. After investigating, we found that, at birth, our real pup was swapped. Elena is our true daughter, our only heir–but she was switched with Ethan.”
The words from my father hit the room like hot oil splashing into water, instantly sparking chaos.
Guests muttered in shock, their voices rising in disbelief. Even Ethan stepped back, his eyes wide, clearly struggling to process what he was hearing.

“You think Elena did everything she did to win our favor? Washing our feet, taking care of us? No, Ethan, she did it to make up for the lost years. She did it out of love, out of respect. She has a heart of gold. Without hesitation, she returned to the Silverfang Pack as our daughter–in–law. She listened to you, gracefully managed the company; she’s truly remarkable.”
“Do you get it now? Elena didn’t become the Silverfang Pack’s beta because she married you. She’s the rightful heir, and she deserves this position.”
