Alpha Magnus slaps a bone knife in front of me in the Snowfield Wolfpack meeting room.
“Two choices,” he ran his coarse fingers across my silver hair, “become my Luna or die as a traitor.”

Healer Lucian rushes into the hall: “By tradition, she has the right to refuse!”
“Tradition?” Alpha Magnus laughed. “Well, tradition says that any challenger who can beat me can take her!”
Healer Lucian is anxious but helpless; he is just a Healer and has no chance of fighting Alpha.
However, in the dueling arena at dusk, Alpha Keal appears with an unhealed leg.
“I challenge.” He took off his blood–stained coat to reveal bruises all over his body.
The crowd of onlookers booed. Alpha Magnus looked at him scornfully. “Even a Worrior?”

I was forced to sit in the stands, my greyey e eyes cold: “Have you had enough of the e slshow?”
AAlpha Keal does not answer and lunges dideectly at Alpha Magnus. The two men rolbeked and fought in the snow, kicking up a white sisnow.

In a late–night raid, I lead Team Gamma into the rebel lair.
“Flank the east!” my gray eyes glinted in the darkness. “Healer Lucian, cut the back!”
Alpha Damien grabs Vivian in front of him in the chaos: “You’re useless —”
A dart pierced his hand. I stood on high with my hand still in place. “This arrow is for my eye.”
While Alpha Damien is on his knees screaming, Vivian suddenly pulls out a gun and says, “Fuck you all!”
Healer Lucian shouts, “Get out of the way!”
Vivian’s bullet swept through the three soldiers, and they instantly fell to the ground.

After the war, Alpha Keal drags his wounded body to me.
“I’m going,” he said, holding out a little bloody bag. “This is… The baby’s hair.”
I didn’t answer. “Keep it. It’s the only thing you deserve.”
Alpha Keal’s hand hung in mid–air. “At least tell me you loved me.”
