“Gabby, you were so cool just now.” Nadia couldn’t help but grin widely.

When she first arrived, she found Gabrielle quite agreeable. Unexpectedly. Gabrielle actually lashed out at Chloe and the others.
Nadia was grinning from ear to ear. The enemy of an enemy is a friend, after all. She and Chloe were at odds, so the more she looked at Gabrielle, the more she liked the latter

She turned around in annoyance and looked down at Nadia from a superior vantage point.
Nadia set down her suitcase and panted. Her fair face had flushed red. She wiped the sweat from her forehead and plopped down onto her luggage.

No sooner had she finished speaking than the complexions of Brendan and Jennifer dramatically shifted. They stared at Nadia with peculiar expressions, leaving her utterly perplexed.
“Why are you all staring at me? Is there something on my face?” Nadia was quite startled.
She hurriedly raised her hand to wipe her face and even took out a mirror to take a quick look. Suddenly, her body stiffened and her legs felt somewhat numb, as if something was crawling up her leg.
Nadia stared at Gabrielle in disbelief, observing as her line of sight kept drifting downward.
Nadia quickly lowered her gaze, finding a small snake coiled around her leg, steadily climbing upward. The moment she looked down, the little snake instantly lifted its head, flicking its tongue at her.
“Ah, a snake, a snake!” Nadia screamed in fright.
Hearing the commotion, the other group of people also quickly rushed over.
The photographer stood at a distance, shifting his focus onto Nadia. He observed as she collapsed onto her suitcase, her body rigid with fear, daring not to make a move.
Cold sweat incessantly seeped from her forehead, dripping onto her arms.
Sensing her fear, the snake grew increasingly excited, raising its head. Suddenly, it lunged toward Nadia’s face.
“Be careful.” Upon seeing the situation, Brendan picked up a tree branch, while Jennifer also stepped forward, intending to topple Nadia. Everyone’s hearts were in their throats.
Nadia’s Eyes widened as she watched the snake lunging toward her face. She was desperate to run away, yet her legs were rooted to the spot as if they had grown there.
As the snake slithered toward her, its flickering tongue nearly grazed her face, a dagger whizzed through the air toward her, its silver gleam momentarily dazzling her as it whirled past her face.
With a thud, the snake’s tail struck heavily against Nadia’s face, causing her to let out a soft gasp of pain.
The snake was stabbed by the dagger and flung with force, ultimately getting impaled against a nearby tree. Blood splattered everywhere as it struggled relentlessly while pinned to the tree.
“Are you all right?” Gabrielle strode forward.
Fear filled Nadia’s gaze. She covered her cheek that had been struck by the snake’s tail with her small hand. It took her a moment to regain her senses. She looked at Gabrielle in disbelief, then back at the snake.
“Gabrielle.” Nadia was on the verge of tears.

Chloe had just been reveling in another’s misfortune, assuming that Nadia was about to meet her end by the snake. However. unexpectedly, Gabrielle intervened, which infuriated her to the point where she involuntarily clenched her fists.
She had long since grown tired of Nadia. If it wasn’t for her, I wouldn’t have lost my leading role. Without Nadia, I could easily step in and take her place. Gabrielle lightly grazed Nadia’s nose with her fingertips, patted her shoulder, and said, “Don’t just stand there. Let’s go.” Brendan and Jennifer were taken aback by Gabrielle’s prowess. Their hands were still raised mid–air when Gabrielle had already dealt with the snake. They exchanged a glance before finally lowering their hands.
“Let’s go.” Brendan uttered, striding forward.
Seeing that Nadia was so frightened that her legs had turned to jelly, he kindly picked up her suitcase. Jennifer hesitated for a moment, then offered. “Nadia, let me help you.”
Hearing that, Nadia didn’t refuse either.
The group of four pressed on, with Gabrielle leading the way. Brendan was burdened with two pieces of luggage, while Jennifer supported Nadia. Not daring to linger any longer, they quickly made their departure.
“Quick. We should follow them,” urged Caleb hastily.
Carrying Chloe’s luggage, he started walking to catch up to Gabrielle.
For reasons unknown, his initial confidence began to crumble as he ventured into the forest. The unknown dangers lurking within held the potential for disaster, and a single misstep could cost him his life.
Caleb thought. The production team isn’t omnipotent. I reckon they yearn for some mishap to befall the guests, just to spice up the live broadcast. From the looks of the recent scene, they don’t seem to care about the well–being of the guests at all.
Gabrielle’s actions earlier had given him a vague sense that only by staying by her side could he feel the most secure. She had been brought up in the mountains and only half a year ago had she been brought back by the Seavers family.
Chloe sensed his anxiousness to follow, and she quickly let out a gasp. “Ah.”
Sure enough, Caleb quickly turned back, asking with a hint of concern, “What’s wrong?”
“It’s nothing. I just stepped on a piece of broken stone. Let’s hurry up and catch up, or it’ll be dark soon,” Chloe said, biting her lip, her face a picture of determination.
Benjamin was also startled when the snake lunged toward Nadia, prompting him not to take things lightly anymore.
