Chapter 18
Before he called, he had considered seeing him, but after hearing how happy he was with Lucy, he changed his mind. He thought again missed. His father wanted to tell him something after he said bye to him, but he acted like he could not hear it and hung up.
that he was not
His father tried to call him back a few times, but Asher felt he had heard enough and ignored the call. Lucy texted him later, but seeing her name made him throw his phone on the couch without reading the message. He assumed what they wanted. He guessed his father wanted to invite him back to meet Lucy, and Lucy wanted to convince him again that they would have to start their relationship over.
After all that happened in the hospital with Olivia, he felt he couldnt hold back from sharing his honest opinion about Lucy with his father. He was also mentally so tired that he didn’t even want to give his father a chance to invite him to the pack.
After showering, he drove to a takeaway restaurant and bought a massive amount of food. He was so frustrated by his thoughts that he forgot to check the sky when he returned home. He just held his food and carried it inside. He turned the TV on and ate.
Olivia lay on the hospital bed and watched the ceiling. She didn’t know how to lose her mind so much in front of Asher. She thought maybe he was right, but she couldn’t control her thirst. She sat up and hugged her knees.
She deeply regretted treating him like that, even if he made fun of her again. He had helped her, and she would have thanked him instead. After thinking for a long time, she printed a document on the computer. It was about her leaving the hospital at her own risk. She signed the document and put it in an envelope.
She put Asher’s name on it and closed it, then walked down to the reception. The receptionist had numerous questions, but she just said she was fine and asked her to make sure the envelope would end up with Asher in the morning-
She left the hospital. She walked back home and she went to bed. Olivia covered herself, and she tried to fall asleep.
Asher, on the contrary, wasn’t that calm. He had his usual supper for two, and he went to bed. He felt so frustrated, but he convinced himself it was just the happenings. Asher always had Olivia’s face on her mind, and he could not get it out of his head.
He went to bed and tried to sleep but could not. After turning around a hundred times, he gave up. He sat on his bed and tried to take deep breaths. Asher sat like that for a while, and his eyes widened in fear when he realized his chest felt heavy, His heavy breath turned into panting, and he felt his skin burning while it seemed like stretching.
“Oh, no!” Asher gasped, quickly rolling down from his bed. He held the chains, putting them on his neck and ankles, then leaned his back against his bed with his eyes closed. He quickly tried to think of everything. The house’s windows and doors were locked, and human hands could only reach the key to the
Asher breathed even faster, and his skin felt ready to be ton. His skin was sweaty, and he wanted to shout when, but no voice came out of his throat.
His beast was ready to appear, and he could not delay it anymore. His pupil grew, and his iris turned yellow. That was when the transformation started. He could not control himself anymore. Asher’s wolf took the lead. His body transformed with a cracking sound as his bones deformed. His black fur covered his skin in a minute, and the vast, strong beast finally appeared.
It was like always. After he realized he could not get free and hunt for food, he got mad. He desperately tried to leave the room, but the firm iron bed and the chains did not let him go. He tried to pull it in the hope the ironwork would break, but it just made him suffocate, as the collar Asher used made his wolf choke when it was pulled.
