Chapter 23
When she opened her eyes, her vision was blurry again, but it soon cleared. After looking around, she realized it was dark outside. She still felt heavy, but falling asleep helped. She sat up and sat on the floor for a little while, but a cracking sound made her frown while she stood up.
After touching her back, she took her way to the bathroom. After taking her top off, she turned around, desperate to see what had happened to her, but she was not ready for what she saw in the mirror. There was a tear on her back, Her skin was so dry it was torn. Her eyes widened instantly. Of course, there wasn’t any blood; only her flesh was visible. She sighed sadly. She never heard of a vampire dying of thirst, but she knew a few who believed their lives could
end like that.
She put her top back, but she did not want a hot bath this time. Even if that tear was not painful, she feared the hot water would make her skin dryer. Just she left the bathroom, she checked the time. It was four o’clock in the morning. She planned to stay away from the hospital for a few days. First, she could not go in with an infection, and second, she was afraid of making a mistake that might cost a human life. She remembered the time when she could lose her mind smiling human blood, but that was probably after she was born a vampire. However, she had never been without blood for this long and didn’t know how for blood thirst could lead her. Olivia was worried that she would lose her mind entirely and would no longer be in control of her mind.
Olivia rang Dr Knox, then sat down and held her head. She tried to think of something that could moisturize her body, but unfortunately, she couldn’t think of anything but blood.
For a moment, she was thinking of catching some animal and testing if that would help, but he recalled a memory of another young vampire. That vampire tried to get used to animal blood, but he became a feared predator in the end.
Many vampires, like Walter, lived on animal blood in the Green Community. However, they were all ancient vampires who controlled themselves or each other. If a vampire wandered on a path against them, they helped it find its way back. However, Olivia was alone. If she lost her mind, no–one would help
her.
That young vampire was alone, and the humans did not understand how so many animals died in a short time. They also didn’t understand the method by which they had been killed. Finally, they believed there was a creature that killed them. They were so close to the truth a vampire community close had no other choice. They caught him, and they finished him. The humans still tried to find out the reason for the death of those animals, but as there was nothing to explain the mysterious death cases, they stopped investigating them after a while.
She sighed, crawled back to her inflatable mattress, and covered herself. Then, she closed her eyes and fell asleep again.
Olivia got up in the afternoon. She felt hopeless after realizing that moving was much more challenging than the day before. She crawled out into the bathroom to see herself in the mirror. Straight after she stood up, she wished she would not have done that. There was a new tear, and it was on her face.
“It is faster than I thought, she whispered in disbelief. However, she could not stare at it for long, as her phone made her jump suddenly, causing another tear. It took her a great effort to come out of the bathrooms and see that an unknown number called her. She picked it up.
“Hallo!”
The line was quiet. She frowned
“Hello, who is it?” Olivia was about to move into the room when the line was cut. She looked at her phone and stared at it for a little while. She didn’t know who could call her, but she hoped no one was about to see her. For a moment, she was thinking of what would happen if they would worry for her in the hospital too much. What if they sent an ambulance that would break her door if she didn’t answer?
