Chapter 60 Lure Him Out
“All right, I’ll have those.” Gabrielle said, stepping out.

Hearing that, Charles headed straight to the kitchen. By the time he’d finished preparing the meal, Gabrielle was already back, holding a bunch of medicinal herbs in her hands. She handed them over to him and pointed toward a basket nearby.
“Simmer three bowls of water on low heat until it reduces to half a bowl, then add this,” she instructed, handing him a small boule
Charles stared at the medicinal herbs she’d gathered, his hands slightly trembling as he accepted the bottle.
Take it twice a day. In about three days, your kidney stones will start to dissolve, Gabrielle advised. “Make sure you drink plenty of water to help flush them out. Then, go back to the hospital for a sean to make sure they’re completely gone.”
Kidney stones might seem minor, but plenty of people had suffered or even died from them. Passing them was brutal, and even when they were cleared, they often came back, sometimes in just months or even weeks. It was a painful cycle that quietly wore people down over time.
“Right away” Charles replied, gripping the medicinal herbs and hurrying to the kitchen.
Gabrielle sat down and calmly finished her meal. When she was done, Charles came over and cleared the dishes. She grabbed the car keys and headed toward the door. Charles followed quickly behind her.
“Mrs. Zechman, the car’s right there–the black one. Mr. Zechman said black’s more discreet and safer.”
“Got it.” Gabrielle said, heading to the vehicle.
Once inside, she powered on her phone and launched the tracking system Caleb had secretly installed. As soon as the interface popped up, she noticed her phone was still being monitored.
She’d deliberately left the tracker active. She knew it’d be useful later to draw Caleb out.
He was ambitious. All he cared about was getting into the Lefevre family’s good graces.
Because of him, she’d spiraled into a deep depression in her past life. But this time, she was going to make sure he lost everything he cared about.
“Just wait, Caleb,” she muttered with a cold smile.
The tracking signal flickered a few times, narrowing in on her location. With that, she started driving out toward the outskirts of town.
She pulled up next to an old, abandoned building and made her way inside.
As she climbed to the second floor, a car suddenly screeched into view. Standing on the balcony, she glanced down and saw Caleb jump out, his eyes glued to his phone’s CPS.
He only looked up when he was right below her–and there she was, turned away, leaning against the wall like she was lost in thought
“Heh. Gabrielle, let’s see how much longer you can avoid me, Caleb muttered, his voice bitter.
Her cold attitude on that variety show had already sent him into a rage. If it weren’t for being on camera, he would’ve confronted her ages ago. After he got poisoned, not only did she not care–she seemed happy about it. That humiliation burned.
He made his way into the building. Sure enough, there she was, amid the clutter on the second floor.
Caleb rushed forward, about to grab her in frustration, but as she lifted her head and looked at him, her movement made him pause.
“Huh Caleb froze.

Before he could say anything else, Gabrielle moved fast. Her kick slammed straight into him, knocking him to the ground.
“Feels good, tracking me like that? Gabrielle asked, her voice cold and

Caleb was terrified now–really terrified. His body trembled, but when he tried to move, he couldn’t. It was were locked in place. He strained and struggled, but nothing worked.
“What the hell is this? Gabrielle, you better stop playing games. If you don’t let me go, don’t blame me for what happens next,” he snapped. “You’re being forced into marrying some guy who’s practically on his deathbed. Once he dies, you think the Seavers family will still want you? They’ll say you’re cursed, that death follows you wherever you go.”
He didn’t even get a chance to finish. Suddenly, a stinging sensation struck his face–once, twice, again and again, like invisible slaps.
“Ah!” Caleb yelped, pain flashing across his face as Gabrielle snatched his phone out of his hand. He panicked, shouting. “You b*tch! Give it back!
But she didn’t even look at him. Instead, she calmly dialed a number on his phone–his mother’s number.
Caleb broke into a cold sweat. His lips moved like he was about to say something, but he couldn’t speak. It was as if his mouth had been sealed shut.
“Caleb, what did you just say?” Regina Todd’s sharp voice came from the phone.
Caleb tried to stop himself. He desperately wanted to explain. Instead, his mouth moved on its own, spitting out words he had no control over.
“I said, you old hag, just because you’re Mrs. Lefevre now, you think I can’t deal with you? Just wait. I’ll ruin you. I’ll find some goons to take care of you, teach you to stop looking down on me! What if I’m illegitimate? Once I finish off you and your brat, the whole Lefevre family will be mine.”

He was shaking now, his voice ragged with emotion.
A crash sounded from the other end of the call, something smashing hard in the background. A man’s voice followed “Caleb, is that how you talk to your mother?” Darren Lefevre’s voice was heavy, his disappointment clear.
The call was on speaker. More furious shouting could be heard in the background, filled with venom.
“My mother?” Caleb snapped, tears running down his face. “If it weren’t for that shameless where, my real mom wouldn’t have been cast aside like a mistress. You think I’ll just give up? Not a chance. I’ll make you both pay for what you did. I swear, the Lefevre family will belong to me!”
Inside, he was screaming. He wanted to bite his tongue off just to stop the words from coming, but he couldn’t. His mouth was totally out of control.
“Caleb, you come back here right now!” Darren shouted. “If you don’t kneel and apologize, I’ll disown you!”
Caleb was, after all, his youngest son. He managed to suppress his inner displeasure and spoke.
“You think I care? Caleb sneered. ‘Even on your deathbed, I wouldn’t bow to you. Want me to be yours

And with that, he collapsed onto the floor.
Inside, his thoughts were spiraling. It’s over. I’m done for.

“Good. Then don’t come back to the Lefevre residence ever again. As of now, I disown you, Darren declared before slamming the call shut.
Caleb turned to stare at Gabrielle, his gaze like daggers, filled with fury and desperation. But Gabrielle didn’t flinch. She calmly dialed another number.
“Who is it?” asked a frail voice. It was Marilyn.
Her leg had been broken, her face badly burned. The wound on her forehead hadn’t stopped festering. Just earlier, she’d
