This tormenting thought would constantly gnaw at the Seaverses‘ hearts. The more unfortunate they were, the more they would regret. With this feeling constantly torturing them, they would finally be driven to despair.
“Do you want it?” Gabrielle stood there, asking in a hushed, enticing voice.
Marilyn observed Gabrielle’s playful demeanor. With a darkened face, Marilyn gave a cold hull and said, “Who do you think would want your cheap trinket? If it weren’t because you’re my daughter, I wouldn’t even bother wearing it.”
No sooner had Marilyn finished speaking than Gabrielle gave a slight no. “Forget it then, the latter said helplessly, turning around to walk away.
Marilyn was bewildered as she watched Gabrielle leave. She was so anxious that she wanted to stand up, but her broken leg made it impossible. In her desperation, she yelled, “Gabrielle, come back here right now!”
“Gabrielle! Gabrielle fretted Marilyn. Sebastian’s words still echoed in her ears.
Upon seeing Gabrielle’s departure, Marilyn became entirely consumed by fear.
She also regretted returning the emerald pendant to Gabrielle. If she had known how powerful it was, she would never have let Gabrielle take it away, even if it meant her death. That’s my emerald pendant! How could she give it to me only to snatch it back?
“Zach, hurry up and stop her. Get the emerald pendant back!” Marilyn pleaded desperately, shouting at a somewhat stunned Zachary, who was standing by the side.
Zachary was momentarily stunned before he instinctively lifted his foot to chase after Gabrielle.
The opened door seemed to be blocked by an invisible force. With a loud thud, it was as if he had run into something when he rushed out. A wave of pain swept across his face and blood gushed from his nose.
He couldn’t believe what he was seeing. The door was wide open, yet he found himself unable to leave.
“What’s going on?” Zachary was taken aback as he gritted his teeth and charged outward again. With a resounding slam, he was thrown back once again. His face was now bruised and battered.
Upon seeing the situation, Marilyn was so infuriated that she raised her voice and scolded, “Zach, there’s no need to put on an act if you don’t want to go! Felix, go and retrieve my emerald pendant.”
Felix stood off to the side, his mood rather low. After all, he had been apprehended by the police the previous night, accused of drug use. However after a night–long investigation, they realized it was a case of mistaken identity and had just released
him.
Although it was a case of mistaken arrest, the news was everywhere. Whether he really took drugs or not didn’t matter anymore, his reputation was already tarnished.
“All right, Felix replied and walked out.
When Zachary saw Felix walk out directly, Zachary was eager to prove that something was blocking the way. Zachary rushed out subconsciously, only to find that there was no barrier at all. It was as if he had been pretending all along.
“How could this happen?” Zachary was puzzled.
Glancing back at Marilyn, he found her eyes fixed on him, filled with anger. Obviously, she no longer trusted him.
Zachary was feeling quite frustrated that day. He turned to leave, only to discover that Gabrielle had already vanished from the hospital. No matter how much they searched, they couldn’t find a trace of her.
“Gabrielle is clearly doing this on purpose. She’s trying to stir up internal conflicts within our family.” It was only then that Zachary realized something was amiss.
“Zach, maybe we should find a chance to get rid of her.” Felix gritted his teeth as he spoke.

“Why did you let her marry into the Zechman family in the first place, knowing well enough that we couldn’t mess with them Felix voiced his dissatisfaction “If we let Chloe marry into that family, we wouldn’t be in this desperate situation now
Zachary had also fallen silent. Indeed! The Zechman family held immense power and influence. Even if their patriarch has passed away, we can use that family’s status to accomplish many things by marrying into the family! I hy did we insist en forcing Gabrielle to marry
Zachary was perplexed, feeling as if his mind had previously short–circuited. It would be a lie to claim he had no regrets.
When Zachary was hit by that “ZAS” today, he didn’t even dare to call the police. Such was the oppressive aura of the Zechman family that, even when suppressed. he didn’t dare to utter a word of complaint.
Chloe had been the one to marry into the Zechman family, would the Seavers family have been able to latch onto their power? The thought kept surfacing in Zachary’s mind. He gritted his teeth and said, “It seems we have no choice but to tell the Zechman family the truth, that Gabrielle is a substitute bride.
With that. Zachary turned around and walked into the wardd
Having left the hospital in high spirits, Gabrielle bought some food from a roadside vendor before driving back to the Zechman residence.
She arrived at half past four in the afternoon. She walked in, carrying food with her.
“Charles, are you all right?” Gabrielle looked at Charles with a touch of confusion. Seeing him chutching his abdomen, standing there with a face full of pain, she couldn’t help but worry.
Although he could have taken a break, he forced himself to stand there, as if he were on guard duty.
Upon seeing Gabrielle. Charles‘ eyes lit up as if he had spotted a lifeline. He promptly approached her.
“Mrs. Zechman, you’re finally back” said Charles, standing before her with a pained expression. His face was etched with distress, yet he forced himself to maintain a dignified stance.
“What’s wrong?” Gabrielle glanced at him, puzzled.
With a hint of embarrassment, Charles lowered his voice and said, “The medicine you provided. I’ve taken it twice! Just now, I passed a lot of small stones, and it’s quite painful now. Even the painkillers aren’t helping.”
“Then, let me prescribe you another medicine,” Gabrielle said.
She made her way to the side immediately. After she moved in, there were any medicinal herbs arranged on one side of the living room. She wasn’t sure whether it was a command from Jonathan, or if it was Charles who took the initiative.
Gabrielle stepped forward, selecting some medicinal herbs before handing them to Charles. “Simmer it for 20 minutes and drink it. Then you should be fine.”
“Thank you, Mrs. Zechman, Charles said, almost overwhelmed with emotion as he received the medicine from her. He brought the medicine toward the kitchen, with a servant promptly stepping forward to assist.
Gabrielle made her way upstairs. Upon returning to her room, she took a bath before collapsing onto the bed. As she lay there, she took out the hair she had pulled out while in the ward.
“Chloe, she quirked an eyebrow. The thought of Chloe’s unfortunate state brought her a surge of satisfaction.
Iny previous life, I was oppressed and constantly manipulated by these people, leading to my depression. I have to seek revenge for this. All Adid today was make them suffer internally, which was nothing compared to what they had done to me.
Upon having this thought, Gabrielle quickly sat up. She took out the cinnabar, dabbed it on her fingertip, and drew a sigil in mid–air. She then took two strands of Chloe’s hair and flicked them onto the sigil
As Chloe’s hair adhered to the sigil paper, it spontaneously combusted mid–air. Subsequently, a series of images surged into her mind, causing Gabrielle’s brows to furrow deeply.

Gabrielle’s eyes slightly squinted. Then, she dabbed her finger in the cinnabar and pointed forward. With a low wire, the untered, “Break.”
No sooner had she finished speaking than the barrier holding her back was shattered, and that force completely vanished
Gabrielle saw Chloe as a child, her face marred to the point of being unrecognizable, and her bones altered Gabrielle couldn’t see clearly, as the image was blurry.
At that moment, there was a knock on the door from outside..
