He turned to leave as he spoke. When he passed her, he abruptly halted in his tracks.

“I heard you were at the hospital earlier, throwing punches amidst the chaos and intentionally stirring up trouble, causing internal strife within the Seavers family. What a model citizen you are, retorted Jonathan before he took his leave.
As she stood there, stunned, he reached out, preparing to close the door for her. However, as if something had occurred to him, he glanced back at her once more.
“Dinner is in half an hour,” Jonathan said, gently closing the door behind her.
Gabrielle stood there, somewhat taken aback, staring at the closed door.
“Jonathan, are you spying on me?” Gabrielle was somewhat nonplussed. She thought she had been discreet, that no one had seen through her little scheme. Yet, Jonathan had seen right through her.
Gabrielle had settled into the sofa, casually picking up a strawberry from the side and taking a bite. However, her gaze was fixated on a photograph of Frankie.
“How interesting,” she murmured.
She had not expected the Seavers family to have a connection with Frankie. It seemed as though many things eventually came full circle, regardless of how complicated the situation was.
Is this why Mr. Byrne sent me down here? He hadn’t explained anything, merely casting me aside and telling me to return to the Seavers family
At that moment, her phone began to vibrate. Upon seeing the familiar string of numbers flashing on her screen, Gabrielle hastily answered the call. Before she could utter a word, Nadia’s voice echoed from the other end of the line.
“Gabby, have you seen the trending news? Lefevre Group has cut off all resources to Caleb. There are rumors that he might be kicked out soon. Haha! Can you believe it? Someone actually set up a Bluetooth speaker right outside Seavers Group, spilling all the dirt on Chloe. Now, netizens are digging up everything about Chloe and Caleb, I heard rumors that the two of them had rented a room together, but I’m not sure if it’s true.” Nadia spoke gloatingly. It was clear that she was overjoyed upon seeing Chloe in trouble.
“I wasn’t aware. I think they probably offended someone,” Gabrielle said with a soft chuckle.
From the very first glance at Nadia, it was clear that she had a pure heart. Despite being in the entertainment industry, she didn’t harbor any ulterior motives. Such innocence was extremely rare. Nadia was also very clear about her likes and dislikes, plus she was quite outspoken when it came to Cabrielle.
“The popularity of the pair remained trending at an all–time high, which probably left Chloe on the verge of tears in the bathroom. I think it’s important to understand that she has grand ambitions, and there was no way she’d allow herself to be tied down with an illegitimate child like Caleb.”
Gabrielle agreed with whatever Nadia had said.
“You really dislike her,” said Gabrielle dryly.
Whenever Chloe was mentioned, Nadia would bristle as if she’d been rubbed the wrong way.
“Absolutely! You have no idea how she’s always been one to put others down in the industry. During filming, she even hits people on purpose. She even treated many extras like slaves,” Nadia hissed.
There was even this one time when she forced an extra to eat something she had vomited. I was so furious that I went up and punched her twice As Nadia recalled this, she ground her teeth in anger. Even though she typically didn’t enjoy meddling in others‘ affairs, these incidents were just too outrageous to ignore.
“Back then, did she treat you the same way?” Nadia asked, her voice barely above a whisper, afraid that bringing up the past would upset Gabrielle.

down with a contract. Whatever resources you need, my brother will provide for you.”

“Gabby, when you have some free time, would you like to meet my brother? He’s really cool, handsome, wealthy… But most importantly, he’s good–natured,” said Nadia, singing her brother’s praises.
The corners of Gabrielle’s lips twitched. With a dismissive wave of her hand, she retorted, “No. I’m not interested in men.”
It seemed as though Nadia had a strong urge to claim Gabrielle in some way.
“Ah. So if you’re into women, could you consider me?” Nadia joked. “Even though I’m not into women, I could make an exception for you.”
Gabrielle, rendered helpless by her teasing, replied, “So, you called me today just to flirt with me!”
“No! There’s something else I need to tell you. It has spread all over the industry now. Remember how the Seavers family had asked Father Sebastian to give them a geomancy assessment? Well, it turns out they have somehow offended the man. Father Sebastian has declared that he wants nothing to do with the Seavers family anymore!” said Nadia, smiling. “Now, many prominent families have a lot of faith in Father Sebastian says. I daresay the Seavers family has offended a lot of people. Jalbeit indirectly.”
Upon hearing her mention Sebastian, Gabrielle’s eyebrows furrowed slightly.
“Goodness, we have just three more days before we film the variety show together. I can’t wait to see you,” murmured Nadia.
Clearly, life was rather dull for Nadia at the moment. Being around Gabrielle actually made things a bit more interesting.
“We don’t need to wait three whole days. We can meet up for a meal tomorrow,” said Gabrielle with a laugh.
Nadia instantly perked up upon hearing this.
“Tomorrow? What time, where?” Nadia excitedly sat up, seemingly ready to rush over to her wardrobe to pick out her outfit.
“You set the time and choose what to eat. I’m okay with everything replied Gabrielle.
These two sentences had moved Nadia so deeply that tears welled up in her eyes.
“Cabby, you’re so nice to me,” said Nadia emotionally as she clutched her phone. “I think I’m falling for you. What should 1 do?*
Stunned by her words, Gabrielle responded, “Just because of this, you think I’m good? What if I’m only after your wealth and beauty? Wouldn’t I have you fooled?”
“You must be after something from me, right?” asked Nadia with an optimistic giggle.
Her favorable home environment had clearly resulted in her developing a healthier mindset than most people. She was optimistic in her demeanor, with no significant traces of unnecessary thoughts or emotions.
“Okay, then. I was drawn to you because you’re young, beautiful, and wealthy,” Gabrielle whispered conspiratorially. Even over the phone, she could hear Nadia sounding all pleased and smug, causing Gabrielle to shake her head in response.
“I’ll ask my brother later for recommendations for a good restaurant and text you the details,” Nadia said before hastily ending the call.
Her past life had constantly revolved around the Seavers family. She had no personal space of her own, let alone friends. Gabrielle hadn’t expected making friends to be such a delightful experience.
Even though she felt like she didn’t really need friends and never took the initiative to reach out to Nadia and the others, she found herself surprisingly pleased whenever Nadia called her.
Just then, there was a sound of knocking from outside the door.
“Mrs. Zechman, dinner will be ready in ten minutes,” said the housekeeper respectfully from the other side.

to it, neatly storing it away in the cabinet. Today, she had deliberately plucked a few strands of Chloe’s hair, yearning to uncover her past.
She also sensed someone deliberately trying to obstruct her. Unfortunately for them, she had broken their sigil. This meant that the person who had cast the spell stood no chance of survival after she had broken it.
Thus, she wasn’t in a hurry to track them down. She knew that if she stirred up enough trouble, the other party would eventually be backed into a comer, revealing themselves on their own.
With that thought in mind, she stepped into the bathroom to wash her face.
In a secluded mansion on the outskirts of Drocver, an elderly man was sitting in a room, gently swirling his glass of red wine. Suddenly, he felt a wave of discomfort in his chest. His face instantly turned pale, as if his body was engulfed in flames.
