Seeing the contempt in the bodyguard’s eyes, he couldn’t help but recall the ZAB Porsche that had rammed into his car earlier that day, sending it flying. It was an implicit threat and a warning.
At that moment, his back was still drenched in cold sweat. Not daring to hesitate, he pressed down on the accelerator and drove off into the distance.
He returned to the hospital, having purchased some fruits and food. Carrying them, he walked toward the inpatient building.
As soon as she pushed the door open, she saw Chloe rising from the couch. Suddenly, her body swayed, and with a soft barf, a mouthful of fresh blood spurted out of her mouth
“Ah,” she whimpered softly.
She felt as though something was relentlessly burning inside her, threatening to tear her apart.
Chloe’s eyes rolled back, and she collapsed onto the ground.
“Chloe, Chloe, Marilyn lay in her sickbed, her eyes wide with fright as she watched her daughter cough up blood and subsequently faint.
She collapsed onto the hospital bed, her broken leg hindering her movements. All she could do was cry out, “Quick, call the doctor, call the doctor!”
Upon seeing the situation, Zachary quickly put down what he was holding and turned to leave, urgently summoning the doctor.
The doctor walked in to find Chloe collapsed on the floor, her complexion ashen. He quickly checked her pulse, and after a moment, he said. “It seems like she’s suffering from malnutrition and lack of sleep. There’s nothing to worry about. She just
needs some rest.
A nurse stepped forward, hoisting Chloe up and laying her onto an unoccupied hospital bed nearby.
This was a VIP hospital room, equipped with two beds. One was meant for the patient, the other for their accompanying caregiver. However, the extra bed had now been put into use, with Chloe occupying it..
“But, she just coughed up blood,” Zachary said, a frown creasing his forehead.
He had a vague feeling that things were definitely not as simple as they seemed. After all, no healthy person would suddenly faint from coughing up blood.
“Probably just a case of extreme anxiety, nothing serious. If you’re not convinced, you’re welcome to take her to another hospital for a check–up,” the doctor said with a stern expression.
He couldn’t be bothered with patients who didn’t trust him.
Zachary was somewhat taken aback.
He stood there, speechless, not expecting a doctor to lose their temper at him.
In the past, no where he went, people always treated him with respect. Something like that
recently, it seemed like everyone was giving him the cold shoulder.
Even though the doctor knew he was the CEO of Seavers Group, the former didn’t seem to care.
“Why does she look so pale? Zachary asked by the bedside.

“Mom, enough” Zachary said, clearly irritated. He pulled out a cigarette, not caring whether the hospital allowed smoking or not, and took a deep puff.
He became so agitated that he was starting to lose his sanity.
Seavers Group was being blacklisted, and hadn’t been to the office for several days already.
The celebrities under its stable were collectively given a break, and many were considering alternative paths.
The financial crisis wasn’t even as dramatic as the current situation of Seavers Group. The latter so severe that it nearly crippled the entire company overnight
“Mom, what’s happened? Benjamin and Felix walked in from outside.
Upon seeing Zachary slumped on the couch and Chloe lying on the hospital bed, they came over to take a look and commented with a hint of disdain, “Who is this?”
“Isn’t this a VIP ward? Why are we sharing it? I’ll call the doctor and have the nurses move her out.” Felix said.
Following that, Benjamin chimed in, “Right, with outsiders around, Mom’s safety can’t be guaranteed. Besides, it’s not convenient for us to talk. If our conversation gets overheard and spreads, it could lead to trouble.”
Clearly, they were both aware that the things they discussed in privats were not meant for public consumption

Watching as the two men hoisted Chloe up, intending to toss her out, she was seething with anger.

Felix quickly withdrew his hand, causing Chloe to fall heavily back onto the sickbed. A muffled groan of pain escaped her lips.
“Since when did she become so ugly?” Felix swallowed, casting a somewhat doubtful gaze at the patient he and Benjamin had just carried.
Benjamin also leaned in, reaching out to touch her.
Isn’t Chloe’s skin incredibly smooth? Benjamin commented, immediately withdrawing his hand as if he had touched something filthy. “Her skin is so rough.”
In haste, Felix spun around, his gaze landing on Zachary
