At that moment, lightning flashed and thunder rolled, and a torrential downpour started outside.

“It’s raining.” Nadia remarked. As she looked up, rain splattered on her face. She quickly ran back with her bowl in hand, and the others grabbed their own bowls and plates.
Just as she dashed back into the living room, the rain outside had already blurred her vision.
“Good thing we finished eating. Otherwise, we’d be drinking rain soup,” Nadia said with a laugh.
Her personality was lively, and with her sweet looks and a one–piece jumpsuit, she looked tall and cute all at once.
“By the way, the people next door just woke up. With this heavy rain, how do you think they’ll deal with breakfast?” Nadia asked curiously. The thought of Chloe going hungry brought her some secret satisfaction.
Brendan set down his spoon and bowl before wiping his fingertips.
“If Gabby hadn’t gotten up early and found us something to eat, we’d be hungry too,” Brendan said.
That one sentence snapped them back to reality.
Nadia quickly turned to Gabrielle, saying, “Gabby, next time you get up, wake us up too. We can’t let you do everything.”
“Yeah, exactly,” Jennifer echoed in agreement.
Gabrielle didn’t really mind doing it. However, she still agreed with a nod, “Alright.”
She had woken up early to check the situation behind the village, so she hadn’t thought to wake them.
“It seems like this rain isn’t going to let up anytime soon. How about we play a round of poker?” Gabrielle suggested, pulling a chair over as she sat down.
“Yeah, let’s play! Even though we can’t connect online, we can still play locally,” Nadia said as she immediately pulled out her phone.
Jennifer and Brendan also came over to join.
The four of them started playing poker. The stakes were set–the losek would have to do the dishes that night. Everyone agreed.
Next door, after Chloe had helped Caleb back, she was stunned to see the rain. She remarked, “We haven’t even had breakfast yet, and it’s already raining?”
But no one paid any attention to her.
She felt a bit frustrated and turned around to see Benjamin sitting silently to one side.
She walked over to him and nudged his arm, whispering, “Ben, what’s wrong?”
Benjamin’s eyes were bloodshot as he glanced up at her, still stewing over the image of her wearing a seductive nightgown. and clinging to Caleb that morning.
“Come with me” Benjamin tugged at her arm.
He dragged her outside, scanned the area, and only when he saw there were no cameras did he let go.
He ran his fingers through his hair, clearly agitated, then looked at her and asked, “Why are you suddenly being so nice to Caleb You even rushed in to hug him this morning wearing nothing but a nightgown.”
Benjamin felt a tightness in his chest. “Did you really sleep with him before? Is the rumor true? Did something go on between you two before this show?”

“Jeez. Ben, you’re overthinking it. I was just worried something bad hadhamento hum this numing, soll rushed in without a second thought. And besides, the person I care must admit on this whole show is you Ben Don’t you know me by now? I’ve never even spent the night away from home before. How.comittpussy have sign with him?TM
Her soft, coy voice quickly soothed Benjamin’s anger.
Looking at her pouting and aggrieved face, he felt his anger dissipate in an instant.
“Don’t ever do that again,” Benjamin said, lowering his head to kiss her forehead, his handruffling her han
Chloe leaned into his chest, listening to his strong, steady heartbeat. A cold, calculating smile crepitantoherlinssiterete couldn’t see.
“Sure, I’ll do whatever you say,” Chloe murmured sweetly.
She then wrapped her hands tightly around his waist.
Her body rubbed against his as if she were just being affectionate, but his body went stiff, soon reacting like a mam wanid.
“Love you,” she said, tiptoeing up to press a kiss on his lips.
It was a light kiss. Benjamin looked down in delight as she shyly turned around and ran inside.
He stood there for a moment, touching his lips where her warmth still lingered.
He chuckled quietly and turned to leave.
But then he saw the cameraman standing not far away, looking dumbfounded, with the camera pointed right at him. Benjamin stood rooted to the spot in shock.
He stepped forward quickly, looking at the camera and then at the cameraman.
“She’s my sister. She was just upset, and I was comforting her,” Benjamin said, his voice hoarse.
He became somewhat flustered.
If this scene made it to the livestream, would people say they were incestuous? But it seemed too late now. Yet, on second thought, did it really matter?
After all, he and Chloe were not related by blood. If there was a misunderstanding, the worst–case scenario would be marrying her. That would work too.
He had never entertained the idea of Chloe leaving the Seavers family through marriage anyway. She was raised by the Seavers family and was expected to stay with them in the future! Therefore, whether she was considered a sister or a wife, it didn’t make a significant difference.
“I get it. Of course,” the cameraman said, his eyes sparkling.
Benjamin looked away, flustered, and acted like nothing had happened, heading back toward the living room.
The living room was quite bare, devoid of even a place to sit.
The house appeared new, yet it lacked the lived–in aura that the older house next door possessed. Despite its leaky roof, the heighboring house at least had a full set of furniture. Moreover, once Gabrielle had thatched the roof with grass, the rain didn’t pose a problem anymore.
They couldn’t help feeling a little bitter–despite picking the better–looking house, they had no furniture and had to sleep on
the floor.
“I’m going to lie down for a bit,” Tristian said, turning and heading to the bedroom

Back in the living room, only Chloe and Benjamin remained.
“Don’t worry. We’ll head out again once the rain stops,” Benjamin said softly.
Chloe forced a smile, then turned and walked outside, gazing at the rain. As she turned her head, her smile froze.
“Why are my clothes out of order?” Chloe said in disbelief.

Last night, after her shower, she’d washed her clothes and hung them up. She had specifically hung her underwear and bra further away. But now the order was different.
The spot where she’d hung her underwear was empty, the rope bare. And her bra was now on the other side.
Her heart thumped, her complexion turning deathly pale. She wondered if she had just remembered it wrong,
Had someone tampered with her clothes? Was it those three from Team A, or someone else?
Chloe clenched her hand tightly, feeling humiliated, but didn’t know how to speak up.
“What’s wrong?” Upon hearing her voice, Benjamin hurriedly came out.
Chloe, however, shook her head, awkwardly saying, “It’s nothing. I was just thinking that if it keeps raining like this, our clothes might get musty.”
The two of them locked gazes, as though sparks could fly from the intensity.
The cameraman stood in the shadows, silently shifting his lens toward the scene.
