“So, you’re Daphner
I feel like an extra in a movie scene where all good–looking people are the main characters. Standing in front of me is a sophisticated gorgeous woman with straight, long and black hair. She’s like a goddess who came out from a fantasy book. Her beauty seems unreal but at the same time, she’s shrouded by a dominating aura, like a goddess who can wield a sword and kill her enemies whenever she wants to.
Laryssa is the definition of a fatal beauty. Beside her, a man whose face has been on the covers of magazines is the famous movie king in the East Country, as well as Laryssa’s husband, Kyle Austin. Looking at them together makes my whole body shiver in glee and excitement.
How on earth I’m able to meet these people? And to think that Laryssa, the heiress of Goldeney family, conversed with me over the phone just an hour ago. I must be dreaming to be able to be with them in this situation.
It never occurred to me that the person on the phone earlier calling herself “Laryssa’is Laryssa Goldency aka the President of Gold Corp, Jared’s superior and friend. Phew!
When I read the address sent to me. I thought it was strange why Jared happened to be drinking with his friends in such a high–end community. Sure, Jared should have friends with the same status as his, right?
As far as I know, only the richest among the rich live in this area. To think that I’ll be welcome in the gate by simply saying I was invited by Laryssa. It turns out she’s not just an ordinary woman. Well, being the heiress of a wealthy family and the President of the well–known company, Gold Corp. doesn’t really make her ordinary

“Are you alright? You don’t look so well. Laryssa walks towards me and reaches her hand out to touch my forehead. “Maybe it’s not a good idea to have you come here at this hour. Hon, do you mind if we let them stay for the night? We have plenty of rooms here.”

No. I can’t do that. It is overwhelming!
Though I met many high–ranking officials and other company’s presidents, meeting with a member of Goldeney family is a rare opportunity. She also invited me to come over to her house, although it’s solely to fetch Jared. I’m glad I came, and I’m also glad I didn’t voiced out my suspicions carlier on the phone call.
I don’t know how to face her if I ever embarrassed myself by some groundless suspicion.
“Ah. That’s okay. Thank you for inviting us tonight but I have to decline your offer, Miss Laryssa”
“Lary. You can call me, Lary. You’re Greeny’s girlfriend now and will be his wife soon so it’s best to get acquainted.” Lary offers her hand for a shake which I didn’t refuse.
Eh? Who’s going to be who’s wife soon! I can’t just admit that this relationship is solely to uphold our dignity because of what happens when we’re drunk, no?
“Greeny. Do you mean Jared!” Lary has been referring to Jared as ‘Greeny‘ so I’m wondering why. When I was on my way to her house, I had no idea. But now that I find out that Laryssa is the Gold Corps CEO, maybe Jared is calling her ‘Goldy as well.
Lary nods her head with a smile. “Yeah. Were you thinking I was his mistress earlier on the phone?”
I shake my head profusely. “No! I didn’t. Besides, I don’t think Jared will cheat on me. I mean, he always messes up when we’re talking, which makes me want to ignore him if only he’s not my boyfriend. There’s no way he’ll think about cheating when he’s the one who insisted on taking responsibility so..”
I’m stupid. How can I blurt out my thoughts? I should have just kept them in my head.
Lary continues to laugh while her husband is averting his gaze somewhere else. It’s obvious that he wants to laugh out loud too so why try to hide

Jared rubs his head and glares at Lary who’s still laughing while holding her stomach. “How can I sleep when this woman is laughing this much?” He turns his gaze at Kyle who’s zipping his mouth beside his wife. “Hey, superstar, Why don’t you make her quiet for a bit!”
“Hold
You can’t just order my husband to do things like that. Anyway, now that you’re awake, why don’t you go back and stop bothering us here! We’re still in the middle of our honeymoon, remember?” Lary crosses her arm on the chest and raises an eyebrow. “You should be thankful that Daphne still came to fetch you even at this late. Just a piece of advice, don’t come to me when you have love problems because I’m having many of them already.”
“If you say so. Let’s go, Daphne. Goldeney here wants to sleep with her husband and doesn’t want to get disturbed. I wonder why this superstar even married this kind of woman.” Jared grabs my hand and leads the way
“Eh? We haven’t bid a proper goodbye yet. I pull back my hand and face the couple to bow my head. Thank you for having me here tonight Though this greeting is late, congratulations to the both of you. Have a great evening
Lary smirks while Jared glares at her. “If you agreed to marry me then I won’t be tied to this pretty boy here, Greeny, Well, I’m glad you refused my offer.” She grins and hugs her husband’s arm. “Take care, Daphne. Be careful, especially when you’re with that green horn devil.”
I just smiled at Lary’s remark and left.
What about Jared agreeing to marry her thought I’m curious.
“Get in.” Jared opens the door to the passenger seat of his car. “You don’t have to come here at this hour. I’ll drive you back.”
What does he mean I don’t have to come? If I wasn’t told to, I wouldn’t Does he hate me for meeting his friends without his consent? I was a little worried bearing that he’s drunk.
Ah. Thanks to alcohol, I’m his girlfriend at the moment, I click my tongue.
“Can you drive?” I was told to fetch him since he passed our after drinking too much. Now he’s telling me he’ll drive me back. I need to know if he’s in the condition to do it before letting him hold the steering wheel at least
Jared nods his head. “Get inside”
I sigh. “It’s fine, Jared. If you can drive then just go home. I brought my car with me so let’s go separately from here.”
“Why?”
Why is he asking me “why now? He sounds like he hates my presence being here just a minute ago and now he’s asking me why I want to go back separately. Of course, that’s because first, I have my car with me, and second, I don’t feel like being alone with him when he’s in this kind of mood
“It’s lair, Jared. You should go to bed as soon as you can. Lary said she called for your secretary so he’ll be anytime soon. You might as well have him drive you home just to be safe.”
“I told Mathew not to come. Didn’t you come here to see me? Or am I mistaken?”
His voice is lower compared to his usual tone.

“I came because I’m worried. Lary said you drank a bottle of wine and passed out. Is something bothering you?”
Jared stares at me with sadness in his eyes. His face drops like he’s about to cry-

He takes a step closer and hugs me. “Daphine, are you going to get tired of met Please don’t. I’ll listen to Mathew’s advice to become a better boyfriend so don’t get tired of me
